I think it may be a bug, Chris, because I can open it if I choose "open in a new * * * "

Thanks Carl, that is a bug. I’ll try and squash it… :beetle:

I thought about buying that instead of fixing the A/C on mine.

Make sure too look the frame over good,or you will be just getting started. The bodys can be deceiveing on rust overall.

I envy your prices. This is what I get for that kind of money (no AC :frowning:)

As odd as it may seem, that would be a good price for a VW dune buggy. I had built a couple in my day. We can not get one for any price now. All rusted away. VW’s were very popular at one time but they are all gone.TomC

I’ve actually looked at VW:s for my 8". A bumper mount on one of them would require very little plumbing and exhaust preheat already arranged - but I don’t know. I won’t buy any vehicle until I know my gasifier works. I’ve been welding cyclone, cutting doughnuts for flanges and stuff today. One small step a couple of hours a week. I’ll get there some day…(following DOW every day )

JO; A WK would be a little over kill for a “bug” I really believe you need a truck for the base. Anyway, glad you are getting on with your build. It would be nice to see some photos as you move along. Even the mundane common things are of interest to the rest of us addicts. TomC

Haha, might feed wife properly for while and have her ride in the front trunk

I bought a new truck just a few weeks back but wish I had found this first.

Long bed 318 dakota. Very hard to find !

On the long bed Dakotas the wheel well doesn’t get in the way of mounting the gasifier. .

Looks like you could fit a bath tub in that space in front of the wheels,if you put the gasifier back farther, you could redirect the heat and take a good hot bath, before heading home after welding.

I may need to check this one out. $1000.00 50 miles away.

There must be a gasifier under there somewhere!

Only 62k miles on a 30 year old car, I’m guessing they kept that baby in great shape.
