Power usage terms

Agree 100% - best analogy ever.

I find it annoying when news reporters, politicans and even so called “experts”, mess up energy vs power. No wonder people in general get confused.

Well, to complicate this topic a bit more, my new Fergie consumes 3 liters of diesel fuel per 1 operating hour, ie 30 kWh of energy, if I estimate that it has an efficiency of 33%, it would mean that it develops power on average. 10kW. With this invested energy, I go to look for and grind 3 cubic meters of wood chips and bring them home, which would mean 1000 kg of dry wood, which contains about 3000 kWh of energy. How much electricity could I get from this wood? How many miles could you cover? How big a field would you be able to plow? :grinning::grinning:
