Another “what not to do”. If you are heating your home or barn or whatever with a wood stove, never poker stick the burned wood to get a nice char bed, and then put fresh wood on top of that and shut the door with the air supply on the minimum setting. You will have a giant explosion and flame that will knock the pot of boiling water on top to the floor as the wood gas bursts into a fireball in your living room while you are watching “Vikings”.

Good morning Joseph .
Sorry about the boom .
I think gasification my have been discovered through the process you described . I think in that situation you could go on your roof top and light up the stove pipe and burn a flare.
