I was born and raised a farmer but, like three of my brothers, I am a welder by trade, spent 20 yrs in the oilpatch, mostly running my own truck as a subcontractor building gas plants and other facilities. I also ran a shop for 5 yrs doing pretty much everything from building ornamental handrails to farm and industrial machinery repair to pressure pipe and vessel fabrication. After the crash of 2008 and slowdown in the patch I landed a contract replacing all off the steel piping with PVC in the local small village water treatment plant, long story short I am now a water and waste water operator and trouble shooter for public works and admin. of our small village, oh yeah I am also the fire chief.
I got interested in gasification as soon as I heard about it about 2 years ago and learned all I could from the internet, mostly youtube, had collected some tanks and was about to start to build a imbert style when I came across DOW. Of course I had seen Waynes videos so I ordered the book in Dec. and have just been lurking, reading everything on the old site for the last few months, so when I seen the new site is up I figured its time I joined in. I normally don’t but this site seems full of really good and knowledgeable guys that really want to help people out.
So for my first build I am going to try for a small WK style, with a 10" burn tube to run my 1994 4L Ford Explorer off of it. BBB
