In the past few months, I have had to keep cutting back on the air going to the motor. I could not find any leaks until I noticed black water on the parking lot under the filter. Today I removed the filter and there was a hole. I plan to replace the bottom of the drum with 1/8 steel.

Looks very familiar… Here’s what mine looked like.
Before you decide to keep it, test the rest of the drum very thoroughly… In my experience with those type of drums once they rust through one place the rest of it’s not far behind.
I replaced mine with plastic.
