These days we remember the time when our Creator, God, Jesus came to Earth and lived among us as a man. His goodness is immeasurable. We thank Him for everything, especially for our grandson Lovrenc, and we wish you all blessings and peace.

Congratulations Al. Since we dicussed this bread last time I’ve learnt that spreading butter on bread is not very common on your side of the pond. A layer of butter is a must, no matter what topping you’re using on top ![]()
Yep, that’s the way I eat it (real butter from cows not fake) some times peanut butter.
Of course. Grease is for lubing mechanical stuff ![]()
Do you guys use mayonnaise? I suspect we use mayonnaise more instead of butter which is probably a throwback to WWII rationing of butter. I will use butter with plant based stuff like peanut butter or jelly. For peanut butter and jelly, I skip it unless it is softened already, but I usually keep butter in the fridge. For meats it is mayonnaise, unless I am out then I use butter.
We use mayonaise instead of butter for toasted cheese sandwiches. It browns up faster and more even than butter.
Ive done that before, but i usually use butter melt it in the pan and coat the bread, Then assemble and toast it. It uses more butter but butter makes it better.
I doubt they use american cheese, which I think is essential for a grilled cheese, and of course tomato soup for dunking. ![]()
