1996 dodge 2500 8.0 v10 4x4 mechanically sound
So, I have come across a really cool opportunity, and my 96 dodge 2500 has to go.
I love the truck and it’s very very solid, but this isn’t something I can pass up.
So here’s all info on the truck.
1996 dodge 2500 4x4 8.0L v10 gas, auto trans
-298km on engine and chassis < burns zero oil
-zero drivetrain leaks, all diffs, axle seals, output&pinion seals, tcase & trans all bone dry.
-has a minor valve cover gasket leak, new gaskets sitting in the back seat. ( with any real interest/the right price I will professionally install them for you ) leak is minor, does NOT leak enough to drip or smell.
-full front end rebuild three days ago ( Jan 20/16 ) including all 4 ball joints, both axle ujoints , both calipers, fresh raybestos EHT pads, drilled and slotted rotors, & new rf wheel bearing hub assembly. ( 1000$ in parts and roughly 700 in labour ) all moog parts (lifetime warranty)
-has nice aftermarket shocks with no leaks & a small lift, I believe 4"? Not too sure honestly
-has rear airbags shocks & conventional shocks with no leaks
-tow package with trailer brakes wired ect.
-new water pump In summer of 2015
-new thermostat in summer of 2015
-very crisp ( relatively loud but not obnoxious ) dual exhaust manifolds back, with one chrome tip ( other one broke off hehe )
-truck is pictured on 35" dynapros but will not come with these wheels or tires unless I get asking price, it will be on stock chrome wheels with all season tires at about 40% tread
-transmission shifts very smooth no clunks even under heavy load towing. clean fluid, recently serviced.
-regular oil changes
-rear drum brakes at 60%
-park brake works flawless
-drives straight front end is tight needs literally nothing
-recently adjusted steering box and re- preloaded worm gear bearings ( steering wheel has no slop and very tight )
-body is in very good shape, no faded or chipping paint, very minor rust on front fenders and a very small spot on the box (both clearly pictured) underbody has next to no rust, and I’ve had it apart and maintained nearly everything on this dodge.
-interior is 8/10, has a cracked windshield and cracked drivers door pocket trim handle thing.
-small wear rip on the leather steering wheel
-truck will be fully professionally detailed tomorrow morning ( Jan 24th )
-no rips in seats and seats are very comfortable & not worn
-truck has been smoked in, in the past, not by myself but there are 1 or 2 cigarette burns in the back seats
I’m a mechanic by profession and I use this truck as a tow rig for my race car, successfully made multiple trips to penticton towing about 6000lbs no problem at all, with astonishing fuel mileage, I never calculated it , but it is much better than the v8 models and I was very happy with it. Made just under 500km to a tank hauling 6000+lbs.
I need this truck gone asap ( like tomorrow ) and I fully trust any owner would be happy with it. And wouldn’t need to fix much if anything anytime soon. I’ve been over this truck countless times making sure it is solid enough to tow my car without issues. I only took it off road maybe 3 times in 2 years… 4x4 works flawless, & is very capable in the bush for a full size dodge. It’s no Toyota pickup but itll get you through some mud/rocks if that’s your fancy.
I’m serious about selling this thing and it’s a good truck. Give me a solid offer ASAP and it won’t be refused. If not she’s getting traded in.
Definitely available for test drives & I can even throw it up on the hoist if you’d like, I can show you all the work done & the one thing it needs to be flawless (valve cover gaskets)
