Early garden treat

Well Guys,
I know some of us hated this stuff as kids, but it has been
for sure my favorite since my first garden. Just starting to peek through!

I love you, Mom!

I have had a few pop up.
It is always amazing how fast the grow
I am uncertain how many times they can be harvested. I have been taking 2 shoots and then let them go for the rest of the summer

Hi Mike, after they have been established for 3 years, cut at ground level as much as you want.

I usually cut them for about a month, give or take. If it gets really warm
I stop, water them and let them get set for the next year.

A nother year gone by and l again missed the “poor mans asparagus”, fern sprouts. But we ate a couple of our real asparagus, planted one year old seedlings last springs and this year they grew thumb size thick! Anyways, l free range rabbits and they tend to first eat most nutritionus plants, both wild and cultivated. Asparagus is no exception, they bite a few tips off some shoots and we finished those, left the good ones grow for a nother year o two.
