Thanks Carl, watched all the videos very educational. I love my laundry bag stuffed with hay so easy to remove and clean.
Thanks for the ride in your truck.

That Ebay picture that I posted several days ago DOES, indeed offer to sell you the meter AND a choice of several thermocouples. You have to click the “select” button that is above the “Various J-type-----” picture to choose which stuff you want. You are buying “ala carte”. I just ordered the meter and two sheathed Thermocouples with metal cables. I think the total was about $11 USD with free shipping for all 3 components.

I am not trying to compete with anyone else here, just telling you what has worked for me.

Hey Carl, what do think on these? I e-mailed them and it is non-grounded. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Digital-EGT-Gauge-with-2-Alarm-Outputs-and-K-Type-EGT-Temp-Sensors-Combo-Kit/172500485868?hash=item2829d486ec:g:bFQAAOSwlMFZLsD3 This seller has a lot of these separate also.

If ungrounded, it would be good except for degrees C. I prefer F.

Al, aren’t those elements a bit short to get to the hotest part of your reactor?

opps! I think there is one in F* also. here’s one; https://www.ebay.com/itm/Digital-Temperature-Gauge-for-K-Type-EGT-Sensors-w-2-Alarm-Outputs-Special/253410161078?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160727114228%26meid%3Dc64ee2982f6342d4b71b0601f6c46f82%26pid%3D100290%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D152840720326%26itm%3D253410161078&_trksid=p2060778.c100290.m3507

Here’s what I just now got in the mail for a grand total of $11.23:

The thermocouple that is connected to the meter has insulation that can’t handle much heat, but the other two can.
The 3 wire sheathed T/C has, (I hope, because I haven’t opened the package yet) a separate ground. They both have one meter long leads. Over the years, I have bought a dozen of the yellow connectors, so I don’t have to change wiring to get other T/C’s to plug in.
I got these from the site I mentioned earlier. You have to click the “select” button on the item’seller page to see all the options.
No, I don’t know whether the sheaths are steel or SS. But you won’t go broke finding out.
