Martin, did you also notice the different exhaust sound on charcoal vs gasoline?

Is it a gas unit more upward gas or does it look like an imbert, didn’t you have a thread about this?

Don, I can’t say I noticed a difference in the exhaust sound other than the occasional miss. But my ears aren’t what they used to be. I’ll pay more attention next time.

Jan, yes I had created a thread here:

Pretty normal it’s the slower flame speed woodgas is more of a ā€œWHOOSHā€ in the cylinder where gasoline is a ā€œBANGā€

Every engine I have run on wood takes on a very smooth even hum, even the v8 Toyota with a choppy aggressive camshaft and flow master mufflers with short pipes. Truthfully it mitigated any benefit the cam had on gasoline and it drive much more like a stock v8

Nice way to illustrate the effect.

Hi all I apologize for the radio silence

Unless im crazy I think I saw Wayne driving his second Gen north bound on the highway to terre haute indiana

Last year I had a Saturday class I had to attend and that’s why I didn’t go to the meet up. Ive had to lock into both class and work and also being very unhappy living at home so I was able to buy a house on almost 5 acres with a pole barn so ive been busy with house stuff and other projects that have taken priority

Also the rear end blew up on the dakota :frowning:

Hate to hear about what happened to the Dakota, I hope you can get it rebuilt or find a replacement for cheap.

Glad to see you back, though!

Corey you might need to reduce the size of the pictures. I have an app on my cellphone that lets me do that. Just called Photo Compressor. If you get it below 500kb it’ll upload easier.

Hello Corey .

Real good to hear from you but you my have seen someone else. I have been busy here on the farm and have’t been to Indiana in a while.

The weather is getting hot, especially afternoon temperatures are rising above 30°C, otherwise this is not a problem for working with wood gas, but the plastic parts cannot withstand higher temperatures, at 60°C this pipe becomes soft,… there is more in the dark than a gas tractor… Tractor with gas? - #1702 by Tone

It took a long time, many hours on it. You make woodgas look easy.

We are having similar temperatures, Tone. Predicted high of 32°C with 60% humidity. Or as we call it in the South, a normal day in June.

It’s hot even with trees and clouds giving shade. My dehumidifier in the basement is working overtime today.

Don’t think we’ve reached 25 yet. Only a handfull of days above 20 so far. Potatoes are sprouting though - some of them.

We hit 13 today - heatwave.

tone, wasn“t last year also a heat problem with the hose?,

maybee the pipe diameter of the cooler pipes are too big- and number of pipes too less?

yesterday i found on internet market place 2 cm diameter pipes with 37 cm lenght, 1 mm material…this should be good for coolers, i have ordered some for our next projects…i tink also for a cooler with 2 pipe lines…

at the pasquali cooler the pipes have 0.6 mm, thin material is good for cooling, especially in stainless with his low heat conductivity,

the gasifiers are so satisfying with its stong coal gas ( actually mowing and carrying hay) so we cannot resist to build more…

I decided to install a few more solar panels for my own needs, but first I need to make a connection to the power cable, hmmm,… it’s not easy here, … rocks, rocks,…

I have a hardworking helper, and the work is progressing :slightly_smiling_face:

tone, with such a helper the work is quickly done…

i am really jealous, you have so much rocks , food for the stone crusher…

the design of the gasifier you mentioned on matt“s topic, is this like the gasifier you gave kristijan for testing? what comes out with the tests from the independent institute?

in the background the garden looks amazing…you have a really nice place and a blessed country.

There is something about those eyes. Old soul.

I agree with giorgio about the stones. I have scavenged all the useable ones on my property and enjoyed everything I built with them but sadly all I have left is crappy limestone.
