God grant you all His mercy, strength, and peace.
Jakob, I am so sorry for your loss. No words, just prayers. Our thoughts are with you and your family.
Really sorry to hear, Jakob. Donāt know what to say. Our thoughts are with yāall.
jakob,at least we must leave this earth so or soā¦important we have let guide or live in theory and practice by our beloved lord and god father jesus christ and our heart is not connected with the things of this worldā¦where your treasure is, there is your heartā¦
my condolence to you, but we must also think what is better for them, maybee your grandpa will stay with his wife. and i will say staying with the lord, if we have him in our heart, is always better than being hereā¦but of course the loss is painfull for the family
Thanks for the condolences.
Jakob,
Giorgio is so right in what he wrote.
May the Lord fill the void left by your great-grandmotherās passing. Praying for the Lordās will for your great-grandfather. I canāt imagine the loss he is feeling in addition to the physical suffering.
Oh YEHOVAH Almighty God be with Everyone in Jakobās family and watch over them all in this time of sadness, may your Holy Spirit be upon everyone to comfort them all. May Grandma be in your loving care. Be with Grandpa in your loving care. In Yesuha the Son of God name.
Jakob, I just saw this. Iām so sorry to hear that. Weāre praying for you and your family.
My mom said Hell was closing. But upon further research, it is merely for sale. for the bargain price of 625k, you can tell the truth, and say your life is living in Hell.
Thanks everyone. GPA is still in the hospital doing physical therapy, but Itās looking grim if heās going to make it out.
Let s hope he will be ok, Jakob. I know he is very important to you. It feels like yesterday when you made that cross country trip, and you Gpa was present. Lifetime experience and no one or nothing can take that way.
Hello JacobN.
If this is the same Grandpa I met on your trip traveling through with you and your sister: he is a very real remembered person to me.
I am much saddened about this situation.
Here is what can help the most . . .
If anyone of your family generation has a new child . . . or a betrothed . . . take them to visit him.
Just seeing that the Life they have lived has fostered a hope for the future gives meaning to struggling past the current pains and losses; then getting up and carrying on.
Or . . . give a peace comfort to release and sail away on.
Best regards to you and your family.
Steve Unruh
No this is my great grandpa on the other side.
I pray he has placed his future in Jesusās hands.
Actually very much so. I canāt say Iāve ever met a man with more faith in Jesus. Every breath and decision is just about how much he loves Jesus and how Jesus is right. Itās definitely encouraging in that direction.
Jakob, that is good to hear. I am also praying for recovery in this life. With God all things are possible.
So today the power went out in the morning. I went online and saw that the power company expected it to be out till late afternoon. I havenāt run the gasifier for an extended period so I figured this would be a good test day.
I filled up the barrel and got the generator going in about 10 minutes. I babied it for about another 10 minutes until it ran smoothly and then walked away. I wanted to see how long it could go unattended. I ended the run after the power came back on 5 hours later. I was pleased that it didnāt require any attention and that it was still going strong.
Filled to the top.
5 hours later.
About 6 inches of charcoal consumed.
I figure the generator would have used about 5 liters of gasoline. It consumed about 38 liters of charcoal.
I want to get a battery bank and an inverter now to power my house. My hydro can supply about 450 w during the winter which should keep the batteries charged. During the summer I will use the grid. During emergencies I can run the generator for about 3-4 hours a day to top off the batteries.
Using the gasifier in this manner is very doable because it can certainly run unattended for that length of time. ![]()
What does your coal gas generator look like and how big is your electric generator?
Jan, the gasifier runs a Honda EM4500S generator (nominal 4000W). I was probably drawing an average of 800W during the run with intermittent 1600W as I was working on a metal project and using a grinder. I tried welding, but that caused the generator to slow down too much and shut off. I have welded before with that generator running on gasoline. Iāll have to try again without other loads while on charcoal.
BTW, during the run I noticed that the generator runs smoother on char gas than on gasoline. On gasoline, the motor hiccups intermittently like the sparkplug didnāt spark. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Another plus for wood/char gas. ![]()
