Mike LaRosa .. Linden Wisconsin

Jim, I have a 1-1/4" plug on each side of the base. I usually take the two out and just blow the air hose through it and hold my breath or use a shop vac and dump behind the shed. On the road I use a hoe made out of a copper tube but truth is most of the stuff winds up in the cyclone. I hope you are doing OK. Snow will be flying soon.

Thanks Bill, The picture uploaded after I typed Jim. Good luck on the truck search. I have the option to run anything here with trailers. I paid $2000 for that red truck a few years ago. I put rear brake shoes in it and had to replace the return line to the gas tank. I don’t drive it in the winter !!! I need to look into your septic sucking hose … Could you post the link again … I need some decent flex hose. TNX, M

Here you go Mike.

to me I want a rust free truck. Everything else can be fixed but rust never sleeps. I drive rusty junk in the winter but will not put any money in or time in one. I would rather spend the money up front for rust free western iron than to spend money and time replacing brake and fuel lines and still having road slop spraying through the floor and bottom of doors and needing to start over in another year or two. That being said I would have been all over your truck bill for that kind of money. Mike I have had several of them 4cyl s10’s like yours. I love them. I have been using them as winter beaters for years now and always make money at time of sale in spring

Made turnbuckles for puff lid today. I am running out of electric fence wire. Need to buy more. Where did a quarter mile go ???

I’m waiting for the furnace cement I put over the copper nozzles to dry before I can fire it up again. Looks like I will have to wait until next week …
I can’t upload the pic as usual so thanks in advance someone …

Jim, 2WD is worthless here in the winter. I can’t even get out of my property in 2WD or front wheel drive. I have to put chains on all 4 wheels on my 4WD trucks to get out at times …

Mike I have a plow truck with 4wd but it never leaves home. I go anywhere I want with 2wd. If it is too bad I don’t go. I am only 3/4 miles to the Bonneville Salt Flats{US 53} and 20 miles from the second largest salt shed in the country{largest is in Michigan}

I’m ready to see how it works for you Mike.

plugging away and near done … zzzzzzzzz M

Hi Jim & Bill … Time for Red Green here … I usually use the 4WD truck to get my wife pulled out on to the road … It seems she always has somewhere to go … When it sucks I just stay here … I’ve done the spin around and through the ditch plus roll over too many times … Always going to work or back from work when it happened. M

It was a damage control day here today … Beautiful day regardless. I managed to get the new furnace hung on the wall and the 7 inch hole drilled despite a layer of wainscot and then plaster and then lath and then unknown to me another layer of plaster and lath and a horizontal beam before I got to the friggin lap siding … BUT before I got to do that I went into the loft of my office looking for my roll of fiberglass and it started to collapse under me. I had part of the ceiling in my office fall down … Guess that tornado a couple of months ago twisted the building enough to yank the nails out of the vertical posts in the pole shed. Then it was damage control after that … I knew where my floor jacks were at but the woodchucks buried much of the hardware for them … Finally found that stuff and the ceiling is held in it’s current situation. I need to rent a drywall jack and get it all back in place and now put blocks on the vertical posts … The furnace is hung but it will be another day before I get the exhaust cut to size and installed and the gas piping hooked up … I tried to make a batch of charcoal last night. I thought I had it shut down when I went to bed but this morning it was still smoking … I lost a pile … I just poured water on it and layed what was left on a piece of tin to dry … Should be enough but I lost a lot of wood … Damage control day … Mike

Dang Mike, hate to hear that. Hope things start going your way real soon.

Gary

I can’t even post pictures as the folks that own my website must have gone belly up … It’s war time and this has happened many times before !!!.. I won’t hold my breath … I can’t make Arkansas but I have a hotel room booked on Dauphin Island in a couple of weeks … I will officially turn 60 somewhere below the Mason Dixon line which I consider to be the friendliest part of this country on that trip. Wayne, I would like to drive the Dixie highway south from Huntsville area and stop for a couple of hours … Sue is a pain on it but it is my 60th birthday trip and I was just going to go to Arizona … Last time I drove to the gulf, SUPER STORM Sandy was out the left window and people were wearing down filled coats in Florida while we were wearing bathing suits, swimming, and walking barefoot … M

Hi Mike,

Happy Birthday, I hope you enjoy the trip. Elisa just had her 60th Friday. Nice thing about damage control days is that they make the other days look good. Your trailer looks great, I have been making good progress on mine lately although my daughter and 6 month old grandson did distract me the last few days. I will post pictures and provide details soon.

Rick

Hi Rick, Hope to see you again soon … Just getting ready for winter here … I can’t find any of my web pictures on any of my sites … restructuring I suppose … I can still ftp things up and down but their public access strategy has changed so I have to figure that out now … Ohhhhhhhhhh, have I been busy the last few days !!! … Going to a friend’s wake and funeral tomorrow. I plan to install the vents on our new furnace between the wake and his burial … I hate those bogus services … I will walk uptown for that (burial) … I like the VFW stuff … Drag losing another of my best friends … He was 97 so I don’t cry about that but he remembered the WW2 gasifiers like they were yesterday … Last time I flew in his plane he was in his 80’s … DAMN, I thought he’d make 100 … Mike

Mike , Please stop by . I can have you some dry wood if needed .

Yes the Heart Of Dixie will put you within 6-8 miles of the house . You will come by Bart Star’s old stomping ground , about 5 miles away ( Sue should remember him )

Wayne

PS Happy B’day. I can’t even remember when I hit 60 !!

Well, It looks like my old websites are history. The 2 servers (trip.net and intergate.com) may have gone belly up or bankrupt. 10 years of pictures are gone. This has happened to me before. I am working on a new page on my old server to upload new pictures to. I have storage limits there so have to keep things down.
http://userpages.mhtc.net/~mlarosa/woodgas/
I have to update the index file on it with each upload as it will not allow a direct listing. I’m re-learning html at age 60.
If someone has a recent copy of the pictures from my former site(s), I’d sure appreciate a CD of them. I think I had 50 or 60 meg on it and never mind all my other sites stored there … Mike LaRosa PO Box 383 Linden, WI 53553
Oh well, Mike
Wait till it happens to you :o) …

VHS Beta 8 track Cassete 8mm it already has Oh I forgot 35mm life goes on.:^)
Tomw

Here’s a copy I pulled a while back (6/24/13)… about 100mb.

In the top right is a link to download as a zip file.

Thanks Chris, I will try to snag it with laptop at a hotel while traveling next weekend. It was before I got paralyzed and I have built a whole new gasifier since and pretty much have the trailer ready to go …
Thanks for your comments Tom W
I will post here for a while http://userpages.mhtc.net/~mlarosa/woodgas/
It’s a shame to lose all the shrunk files … I still have most of the originals but limited time or desire to bother to look for them … I’d rather build …
Stay well all, Mike

Burning in the new shroud today and added a poker hole. The lid has 2 layers so had to braze 2 spots …

Hope these links work. If not they will have to be accessed through

Thanks Bill, Ready to rock and roll. My neighbor friend just knocked the deer herd down in my back yard by 2 this afternoon with his bow from my favorite stand. (He has to track down the buck in the morning) His arrow went through him but it got too dark to track … I told him to keep it down to another 2 or 3 before gun season … I have a herd of around 20+ in my back yard. Thanks for posting the latest pics here in case they disappear again … I really don’t give a sh_t as I’ve already met most anybody that is worth their weight in spit … Too bad about the F father and son … I hope things work out for them … I got lit up 4 times going into Wayne’s and coming out so beware … At least on the way out the guy apologized … When I got stopped on the way in, some black guy said he was the only one that lived up Wayne’s driveway … God bless us all and Dixie !!! Them poor kids (20 yo) down there only get paid $2.13 an hour plus tips … The meals at IHOP are like 4 bucks … It’s OBSCENE … I was passing out bills in Kentucky and I’m not rich … They’s f’d up and need to know … SWEM, Mike

Hey Mike ,

Thanks for stopping by on your way to the coast . I tried to call a couple of times this week but your machine was busy.

Lisa and I put several miles on the V-10 today visiting etc and I fired up the tractor and spent an hour or so just riding over the place looking for dead trees . I don’t need the wood right now but have to get them before wet weather .

My son Tally just put an arrow in another deer just about dark . We just finished dressing it and turned it over to the wife .
