Phapang Challenge or or how woodgas will always win

One of my dreams is becoming reality…

After a few visits from high ranking university’s and some passionated conversations where i pledged for the use of wood as fuel, i may start a contest/challenge…

i will try to do the explanation in 2 sentences:

1: You can pick/design your own vehicle
This vehicle must be able to move with a speed between 40 and 80 Km/Hr
Distance to achieve is a roundtrip over 2000 Km
Carrying 2 persons and your equipment to make your energy on the way…
Oh yeah, we have to exclude vehicles driven by human or non technical power

2: You must produce/fabricate your own energy from any source, but for example , if you use solar panel, then you must make your own solar panel…

The challenge will have 2 levels:
1: Theoretical; you have to give full disclosure and details about how much energy units ( read Co2 equivalents ) you used for your energy ( from cradle to grave aka CTG )

2: Practical: Participate in the actual run with your vehicle…
To complete a daily run, within the given timeframe’s…

All will be monitored by the participating University’s and their board of judges…

The winner will be the participant who is the first to complete the run with the smallest eco footprint.

Idea’s to improve the challenge are welcome…
candidates to organize are welcome
Contacts to university’s are welcome
Participants are welcome…
