Shop wiring and welders

Build my home in south east Ga.with 6 ft. copper ground rod driven straight down and another for my shop wiring 6 ft. copper rod. Run my electric welder 225 hot box no problem.
Been welding for very long time, electric and gas. there is some very good info

Hi Brian, My rods were driven in vertically in a shallow 7’ diam “pool hole” 1 foot deep with a copper loop connected to the rods. Rods and copper loop are then buried with earth to original ground level. The rods need to be deep to insure good grounding. Hope this clears up some of the confusion.

Hey Brian,
Check out this 5/8" x 6’ copper/ brass alloy screw in ground rod my wife got at an auction for 2 bucks. Unbelievable! It’s pretty neat, a shame to bury it.
The distortion in the siding in first pic is from the camera angle, not real life.
