Those of you across the pond may be aware of the new VAT tax law, going into effect January 1st. Essentially, any digital commerce websites selling to EU countries will have to pay tax based on the customer’s location, and therefore be registered to every single EU country, for tax purposes.
Drive On Wood falls under this category, and we don’t see a lot of business from this area. To avoid legal headaches, paperwork and expense, we’re just going to pull out of the market.
As of Jan 1, 2015 we will no longer ship to addresses in the EU. This is due to a new VAT tax law. ALL ORDERS from these countries will be refunded.
If you live in this area, and you were thinking about joining up, now’s the time! Better make it a Lifetime membership, because you won’t be able to renew later.
Please write to your representatives and tell them how stupid this law is. If they put in an exemption for small businesses, then we will resume sales there again.
