Hey guys, just wondering what size or thickness or drums will I need to build the standard Wayne Kieth classifier. How do I tell how thick they are, if they are used for food would they be the thick ones. Is there any special type of drum that will work the best? My truck is a 1993 dodge 150 360 ci, Thanks!

Just weigh them if you can. Wayne has found some thick drums with 18 gauge that weigh roughly 50 lbs. 18 gauge is easy to weld up. The lighter ones are ~35 lbs. The thinner metal is harder to weld, and may rust through sooner.
Usually people use what they can get their hands on. If you have the option, thicker means it will be easier to weld on. It also takes longer to deteriorate. Here’s a link for comparison.
