As big as your fuses allow
bigger electric motors are often cheaper used.
I use 7,5hp on mine.
Göran is right, but a 5hp may be easier to find. I think it will have plenty of power if you use a sturdy flywheel.
You probably have to gear it down. One of these cycloidal gears could do it. However they already make them for industrial purposes. Sorry, I think they are pretty cool gearboxes, and I had to post something on them.
This isn’t a straight up cycloidal drive but he does have a link somewhere to draw out the dxf file.
I have this saw tooth on this chain that won’t slide in the groove on the bar on the saw. Is that repairable by like dropping a link, filing, etc. or do i need a new chain. The chain popped off while i was using it.
The pointed part isn’t as pronounced as it is on the other links. It is the one with the gunk in the hole…
I’'ve had that happen more than once. I just find the ones that won’t slide through the bar and just touch them with a grinding stone on a rotary tool until they will.
I keep a flat file in the tool belt sleeve for raker tooth lowering.
I use this out in the field to dress down the raised edges burred drive teeth from a chain popped off.
Tedious as hell. But gets you back up and going.
S.U.
I never had that happen before. It dremeled it, and actually the adjoining teeth had burrs on it as well. They all must have been stuck on the sprocket. It is all back working! Well I need to sharpen it again, but Sugar water is boiling. Thank you!
Collecting fuel, pickin’ up neighbours unwanted wood.
One load of thin garden willow, affected by some kind of “willow disease”.
Another load.
The little Grillo diesel is a work-horse, i slapped together the wagon yesterday. I find it pretty fun to drive two-wheel tractor this way, fast, jumping, no brakes, sometimes hard to steer, fun and dangerous.
grillo is italian brand…i reject every responsability!
Yes, it seems to be a good quality brand, and with a nice running lombardini diesel ![]()
Only trouble is it seems i got the only Grillo that made it’s way to Sweden, no parts, manuals, or implements available around here.
The roto-tiller that came with it was a BCS.
Check out this video, “tmk 150 tree shear” https://share.google/Kn4druPHrPL1FOsMz
Do any of youse follow these Finlanders? I think these Trammers are just like our Finns, clowns one and all. I do really like their shear idea. Do youse ever use these?
My brother has one. And my neighbour.
I want one too, but can’t afford a excavator…
And my old excavator is scrapped.
Do you think it’s worth it?
They are very popular around here for clearing edges of fields. There are some regulations, demanding farmers to have a clear strip between fields/pastures and forest, and ofcourse in their own interest to keep clearance. Almost every farmer uses them, or hiring someone that does the work for them. In 90% of the cases the wood is left to rot, just stuffed in the forest line. In other cases it is “logged” with a ordinary farming tractor, with crane/loader wagon, put in stacks for the woodchipper.
I think it’s so popular because it’s a fairly cheap device, and as many have the mini/mediun size excavator already, it’s a better option than a dedicated feller/harvester.
I haven’t heard any complains from the users i know, seems pretty worth it.
Thanks Bruce, I bookmarked it. Before I grow up I want one too
It depends on your objective. It looks like They make them for skid steers, 3pts, tractor buckets and a replacement attachment for backhoes.
If you are looks to use the wood they are better. if you are just trying to clear out a fence row. the forestry mulcher is a lot faster, and you can probably hire it out a lot cheaper then buying the equipment or rent one for a day.
if it is just saplings like < 3" and you can drive over them, a brush hog will work or a field disc if it is a larger area.
I am selectively cutting with a chainsaw. I don’t want to kill any saplings that are growing. I am mainly after the honeysuckle and vines, trying to get a canopy restored.
Little Grillo works hard moving brush, this is fifth load.
Fuel or material for old-style fencing? Decisions…
It is what I use the cart on the lawn tractor for. It is a bit of a difference in culture as to what the popular tools are.
Yes, it really is, two-wheel tractors are not very common here in Sweden either, garden tractors is what all use here too.
I can tell you people really stare at me when im out driving this. But i am a little “eccentric”…maybe? ![]()
That is a sign from god you should be using your tracked vehicle instead! Then they won’t stare. ![]()
