I thought I would place this video here. This is some of the cherry wood will be going into my wood chunker and some into the fire pit or retort. More wood to haul out of the orchard.

Sorry I could not help my self.

I bet you glad winters over, nice wood pile and nice sunny day, how many orchard trees you got there, and what kind are they- I thought is was running on wood- clean burning and the timeing sounded like it was addvanced.

The orchard is all cherries, oh yes I have timing advanced. Purring like a kitten. Winter is over in the valley, but the snow is at the 3500 ft. elevation , it did do and few furries yesterday but it didn’t stick. Usally no frost after April 18th.

Nice looking cheery orchard - thats a gold mine of healthy fruit-i would be packing the freezer every year possible. The snow almost sounds good after all the tornato’s tearing through the south and all the way up to IL. Its warming up the 70 f tomaro for one day anyway.

Hey Bob .

If you would have turned the camera to your face I believe I could have made a correct guess :grinning:

Hmmm. To me a woodgassed engine exhaust note sounds softer. Not having a harsh gasoline or diesel individual let out of combustion chamber’s bark.
Of course a lot of differences system to system out at the end of the exhaust pipe too.
Then camera’s systems audio distortions - TONE.

I would have guessed woodgased just because of the old goat presenter trickster, m-a-y-b-e.
But then I did not, did I?
It has taken me decades to learn the bit of patience that I now sometimes do have. Come to think probably my Wifes decades of influences.

Back out into the orchard to work the wood burn truck. Got the truck started up ready to go to haul wood.

Bob, when you asked about woodgas or gasoline I thought to myself what reasons would make me idle for that long. I came up with two - bad battery or woodgas as fuel. You didn’t mention anything about the battery, so gasoline was out of the question. Sorry! Piece of cake, Bob

Well just as Steve and I finished up with the orchard wood picking up and piling the wood up, you guessed it. It started to rain this was at around 10:00 this morning and it has not stopped.
Time to finish up on the winter old comb out of the dead out bee hive. This honey will get fed back to the bees instead of white sugar. Need to get my swarm nuke hive traps ready for some more of Yehovah’s faral bees that He will be sending me to take care of and get the Layens long hive going again in it new spot behind where I store my chunked wood.

I had the chunker running today and it was running great until my chunking blade welds broke. By the looks of the welds it probiley crack the last time I used it. Rusty on half of the area I welded.
I will need to fix it in the spring.

Well it is back to using the chainsaw. To cut up the fire wood.

My chunker is down too, never got around to building a belt guard and the other day was backing the dump trailer in next to it on the blind side and the door hinge caught the belt JUST right and sliced it clean in half. Need to find another super duty spare belt from the shelf that will fit it when I find some time

Yup right when you need it, it breaks. When I push my 5" diameter and smaller branches all the way into the chunker it cuts them at 7" and that is just the right length to put into my wood stove. The best part was I could cut the branches 20 times faster than using my electic chainsaw.
I just finished before it got dark, the big pile of wood that I was going to cut up. It was blocking the pathway so I can get it up to the garage to weld back up. I hope the snowy weather holds off a little longer so I can weld the blade back on to the chunker.

The weather is holding out no s__w yet. I am not going to say the word.
The chunked is up in the side yard in the driveway next to the garage door.
Happy Holy Days to you all. May the Yehovah Almighty God bless you all this season in Yeshua Name

The weather is holding out, 50°f today.

This time I cranked the welder up on high and laying down some heavy welds I hope they will hold better this time.

Time to put the tools away and take a God given days rest.
Thank you oh God for keeping the weather nice and dry today so I could do this work.
I will test the chunker out later.

I tested the chunked out and it is cutting up my fire wood great.
Got up this morning to this, wet heavy snow fall. It looks like winter is trying to make a come back here.
Well it is better than rain coming down like it did yesterday. I hope and pray the snow will get a dryer moisture content in it so it will not be so heavy to shovel.
There is something that is so enjoyable about putting up wood for the wood stove in the cold winter snow, much better than in the hot heat of summer with the sun barreling down on the body.
May The Yehovah Almighty God give many Blessings to each one of you this year with many new ideas for DOW projects in wood and charcoal that can be shared here to us all. And many more other blessings to each of you all in Yeshua’s Name. Happy 2025 to you all.

Most people think snow is just snow Bob. The Inuit in Alaska have different descriptors for 70 types of snow and those in Greenland have about 50 or so it’s reported. I can define about 10 different kinds of snow we get. Maybe more if I wanted to burn some brain cells on it. My favorite type is invisible.
