V10 Drive Train From 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4. 488 CI 8.0L. 4 speed automatic (47RE). Transfercase is an NP241DHD (heavy duty version with the PTO port and large output housing).
The truck runs and drives great. There are 87,000 miles on the truck and it has never plowed. I am robbing the body parts to put on another truck of mine and I don’t need the V10 power. This could be a great drive train swap for someone with a 318 or 360 (5.2L or 5.9L) or someone needing to replace their V10 or transmission.
The engine will come complete with the wiring, computer, radiator, hoses, fuel tank, exhaust, motor mounts, belt, accessories, fan, etc.
If someone is interested in it they can go for a ride in it before I pull it apart. It will only take me a day to pull the drive train once I have a deposit in hand.
Dodge 4x4 v10,new track bar o2 sensors brakes and brand new bf all terrains ko2 tires, some rust but runs and drives great. Bought new truck gotta sell. Perfect for work or towing.

They don’t use salt on the coast so, it should be pretty good. I missed a '94 4 wd for $ 1500 and had to buy another one for $ 6200. I have a place in Myrtle Point and a couple of friends in the area.
So, I have come across a really cool opportunity, and my 96 dodge 2500 has to go.
I love the truck and it’s very very solid, but this isn’t something I can pass up.
So here’s all info on the truck.
1996 dodge 2500 4x4 8.0L v10 gas, auto trans
-298km on engine and chassis < burns zero oil
-zero drivetrain leaks, all diffs, axle seals, output&pinion seals, tcase & trans all bone dry.
-has a minor valve cover gasket leak, new gaskets sitting in the back seat. ( with any real interest/the right price I will professionally install them for you ) leak is minor, does NOT leak enough to drip or smell.
-full front end rebuild three days ago ( Jan 20/16 ) including all 4 ball joints, both axle ujoints , both calipers, fresh raybestos EHT pads, drilled and slotted rotors, & new rf wheel bearing hub assembly. ( 1000$ in parts and roughly 700 in labour ) all moog parts (lifetime warranty)
-has nice aftermarket shocks with no leaks & a small lift, I believe 4"? Not too sure honestly
-has rear airbags shocks & conventional shocks with no leaks
-tow package with trailer brakes wired ect.
-new water pump In summer of 2015
-new thermostat in summer of 2015
-very crisp ( relatively loud but not obnoxious ) dual exhaust manifolds back, with one chrome tip ( other one broke off hehe )
-truck is pictured on 35" dynapros but will not come with these wheels or tires unless I get asking price, it will be on stock chrome wheels with all season tires at about 40% tread
-transmission shifts very smooth no clunks even under heavy load towing. clean fluid, recently serviced.
-regular oil changes
-rear drum brakes at 60%
-park brake works flawless
-drives straight front end is tight needs literally nothing
-recently adjusted steering box and re- preloaded worm gear bearings ( steering wheel has no slop and very tight )
-body is in very good shape, no faded or chipping paint, very minor rust on front fenders and a very small spot on the box (both clearly pictured) underbody has next to no rust, and I’ve had it apart and maintained nearly everything on this dodge.
-interior is 8/10, has a cracked windshield and cracked drivers door pocket trim handle thing.
-small wear rip on the leather steering wheel
-truck will be fully professionally detailed tomorrow morning ( Jan 24th )
-no rips in seats and seats are very comfortable & not worn
-truck has been smoked in, in the past, not by myself but there are 1 or 2 cigarette burns in the back seats
I’m a mechanic by profession and I use this truck as a tow rig for my race car, successfully made multiple trips to penticton towing about 6000lbs no problem at all, with astonishing fuel mileage, I never calculated it , but it is much better than the v8 models and I was very happy with it. Made just under 500km to a tank hauling 6000+lbs.
I need this truck gone asap ( like tomorrow ) and I fully trust any owner would be happy with it. And wouldn’t need to fix much if anything anytime soon. I’ve been over this truck countless times making sure it is solid enough to tow my car without issues. I only took it off road maybe 3 times in 2 years… 4x4 works flawless, & is very capable in the bush for a full size dodge. It’s no Toyota pickup but itll get you through some mud/rocks if that’s your fancy.
I’m serious about selling this thing and it’s a good truck. Give me a solid offer ASAP and it won’t be refused. If not she’s getting traded in.

Hello I’m looking to sell my tuck. Only reason I’m selling is because it costs a bit to much for gas on a part time wage. Runs and drives great. 4x4 works amazingly. Has towed trailers in the past with no issue (it was previously a landscaping work truck that hauled trailers) . More details below.

The previous owner before me did a $10,000 motor rebuild around 60,000km ago have paper from original owner.
It’s had regular maintenance (breaks, oil, oil filter etc.)
Latest oil change done on January 8th 2016 oil and oil filter changed.
I have a toolbox for the truck I can throw in for an additional $200.
Cons:
Front left tire popped and currently has a full size spare on it. (Still have the original rim for it)
One of the pipes going into the muffler snapped picture of it is included (easy fix, small weld). Doesn’t affect performance just makes the truck a bit louder.
Couple speakers don’t work previous owner said it was an easy fix I just didn’t have the money to get it looked at.
Right side tail light is broken and has a wiring or fuse issue.
2001 Dodge Ram V10 2500 4x4. New parts within the past year, new tie rod ends, Trac bar, u-joints, ball joints, water pump, tensioner and belt, alternator, radiator hoses, tips sensor, o2 sensors, transmission fluid and filter, shift solenoids. I have a nice 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 well taken care of but has some age. It is a v10 with 178xxx. Good tires helper springs in the rear. Has magna flow muffler. It’s not loud but sounds good. The 8.0 motors are known for the long lasting and hat working motor. Truck is a Laramie SLT truck is stock other then the performance exhaust. Head liner is coming down like every 2nd gen dodge out there but other then that interior is really clean but is messy from my work stuff in there Im really looking to trade the truck for another truck or jeep.
