1996 Dodge Ram 2500 V10-Ext Cab/Long Bed w/8ft Western Snow Plow-trade? READ! - $4500 (East Northport NY)
Thinking about selling this 1996 Dodge Ram 8.0L V10 Extended cab/Long Bed (with bed liner) Pickup truck… Asking $4500… Please NO text messages… Have the balls to insult me with your low ball offers in person… I will NOT discuss price negotiations over the phone, so don’t ask… The truck itself is worth $3500 and people are selling used plow setups for more than $3000… In general you’ll find a lot of rotted plow trucks for $5000-$6000… Dodge trucks in general are listed as having “the usual rust”… This truck is NOT like those trucks…
I actually just purchased it a couple of months ago, but my insurance carrier just dropped me because I had 3 minor accidents this year and totally screwed my life up, so I am deciding to sell this if I get the right price…
I have had a few things fixed…
Changed the front right hub bearing and front brakes, bleeders and brake hardware… Replaced most of the steel brake lines running to the rear brakes and bled the system…
Replaced rear seal on transfer case and replaced the driveshaft hanger bearing…
The truck could use an alignment and you can probably get away with rotating the tires or get 2 new ones… There is a VERY minor exhaust leak at the manifold but exhaust is in overall good condition…
Snow plow works and looks clean; toggle controls inside…
FRAME IS SOLID
BODY IS SOLID (was not used with a salter/spreader so there is no rust or rot on the truck)
V10 engine is strong; tranny works great and fluid is clean… I have not had oil or transmission fluid changed… Even though they may be “due” for a change, I prefer to not “do” those changes as to not “cover up” anything that might make you question the integrity of the truck…
This truck has the 8800 GVWR, so it has the Dana 70/60 front & rear differentials and the truck is as heavy duty as a diesel truck… In fact the V10 truck is the preferred conversion truck for those who want to make the vehicle into a diesel… The transmission will interchange but the torque converter is different and you would need the diesel converter…
Open to offers and I may be interested in a partial trade for a v10 or diesel Dodge truck, 1999-2001 (may consider 1998) with an extended cab/ short bed, also without rust (minor dents ok) needing mechanical work… or I will sell this truck without the plow as well for $2750…
