Also… air / gas ratio devices…
I think this is similar as the build Chris was working with?

Ok the zirconia tubes were quoted for me.
I chose 0.875" ID x 1.125 OD x 6"long.
For small quantity (3) price each is $ 240.00
If I buy quantity of 100 they are “only” $165.00.
I think maybe I’ll try something different.

I found some quite a bit cheaper on ebay.

They were “old new stock” probably cut for some specific application that ceased production. They had several different lengths and diameters.

There was also some from China that were A LOT cheaper.

PS: Just to clarify, I was looking for Alumina ceramic instead of zirconia.

Hi Koen
A bit off topic here, but have you tried a water cooled nozzle on any of your charcoal units?

Hi Patrick,

No not yet, but hoping to try that in the near future.
Kind of the wishart gasifier.
But for now, i have to restrict myself to the use of off shelf materials…

Are those the fire tubes Koen? If so, why do you go with long and narrow?

Hi Bill,
Those are the entire gasifiers
Missing is the lightning port and the gasoutlet, to be welded in today.
They are 120 cm tall, where as 60 cm, on the lower part, is the layer to maintain.
The total lenght is to keep the gas cool on outlet so i can use plastic as before.
The higher 60 cm is the refill zone, containing , for the 4" , 1,3 kg Charcoal, for the 6" it holds 2 Kg
Those gasifiers are meant to be used for the cooking stoves / teaching how to gasify…
its cheap, affordable and they always work.

Nice Koen!
Would you be willing to share what you use for a nozzle in you tuk tuk? How big is the engine? How far can you go on one fill?

Hi Bill,
I think you missed some of my postings before
Engine is a 3 cyl Daihatsu S200, 660 CC EFSE.
Nozzle size and still experimenting is 34mm, stainless, with a welded rim
Consumption : 5,3 Kg Charcoal per 100Km
Refill every 10-12 Kg
Modest speed between 60 and 80 Km/hr
The only problem , so far, is the gearing, shifting between 3 and 4 going uphill, would need a 3,1-3,2-and so on.
Coz the rpm drop is to big.
Waiting on the arrival on suitable OBD analyzer and also some more advanced eprom programming stuf for the ecu ( reprogramming is fun untill you break some  )
