I’m going to order three more if they are still available. That should keep me going until I have a worms eyes view of dirt.

To answer you question about the fittings for the vacuum hoses Dave.
These hoses that I use have inch and a quarter ends on them so they will fit within a PVC fitting.

This is an inch and a half ball valve and the hose is in a inch and a half to inch and a quarter reducer with the silicone sealing it. It just slides into the ball valve.

This is the end into the generator. A three quarter Tee welded to a plate mounted to the propane carb. 3/4 nipple to a one inch to 3/4 threaded reducer and then a one inch coupling on the the vacuum hose just taped on. With the 3/4 gate valve hanging off the end Matt R is right. It would just be a matter of time before this weight fatigued the mounting bolts and broke them off at the engine. This was just for a trial. I did mount a nipple into the original air filter housing and pipe into that but it was a fail.

I was hoping you had a photo of the fittings that attach to that stainless flexi pipe , i have a 24.5 mm hose barb that just makes a nice air tight fit , but would be nice to use the proper fitting .
On the carb fitting i made a flange to fit the carb and then welded a 90 deg 1 inch galv fitting onto it and my flexi plastic pipe just screws into it pretty good and i just wrap some tape around for good measures .

you don’t get a lot of room to work inside those inverter generator boxes

I haven’t bought the metal flex tubing yet. When I get it I’ll see how to adapt it. I’m going to rework my generator connection so that all the weight is not hanging off the carb bolts, this week. I need to find one of those little air filters like you have, as well.

It’s hard to come up with anything new on this site. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone else using dog hair to filter gas though.

Great idea for a filter Tom , and always try and make use of things you have laying around over the years now i have tried so many things and found that something that helps cool and filter the gas is best for me , my latest followed me home acquisition was a stainless steel pool filter with a filtration area of 84 square ft I picked up at the weekend for $40 ,cant wait to get it plumbed in .

I’m so jealous Dave. What a score. Obviously a great filter but also looks like it could be made into a really good reactor, I suppose if I ever went anywhere I may come across some new obtainium but it been three weeks since I got as far as the county road. I’m pretty much the ultimate social distancer.

I ordered three more Hexaloy tubes yesterday. Getting three only increased the shipping charge by about 50 cents over just getting one. If I have the same luck with them as you have I should be good until I’m working on that great gasifier in the sky. Probably not getting into heaven. I’m thinking maybe on the mother ship.

Well i wouldn’t mind giving someone a helping hand with there gasifier where ever that may be , it would sure beat sitting around on the clouds all day playing the harp .
I looked into ordering 3 more and shipping direct from them to AUS was a rip off and well over priced , when someone else posted me items a few years back the US post was only around $14 too Australia

Never understood shipping. I get all kinds of stuff on line and the shipping is either free or very reasonable but if I go to the post office to mail something a small box is like twenty bucks. I guess shipping from China to Australia must not be too bad or you guys would be destitute.

I am not sure what the score is with china post right now , but the reason why we all get free or very cheap posted items from china was because there government paid for it i was told , it was like stimulus thing to get trade bustling along .
USA postage is very cheap compared to our post here , my brother wanted me to post him the boomerang he left here back to the UK i think it was gonna cost me over $40 needless to say that’s one boomerang that came back home with me .
