It is a virus. People get sick. Some people die. Mostly it’s about population control. Thinking that a cloth mask stops a virus is like thinking a chain link fence will stop a swarm of bees.

I agree and agree with what you both say , and i like to think that i am far enough away from it up here in the hills and it will not really affect us in the coming years as long as we stay outta the way and mix a little as possible , but the talk now is that unless we get a jab for this thing we will not be able to go into shops , ok can live with that i will order on line and get them to drop it off if i have too , oh and we will not be able to travel over sea’s with out this damn jab , ok not sure if i woulda been able to get to Argos anyway’s as life is so busy right now , but here is the killer , we will not be allowed to travel inter state , for those who dont know it means you will not be allowed to move around your own country !
oh we had a rally yesterday on all 4 main TV media companys channel 7 , 9, ABC and SBS tv studio’s they stood out front of each studio for over 1 hour , police in attendance no problems nice and peacefully But not 1 person entered or left the buildings during that time and low and behold of course no mention at all on the 6 o clock news on ANY channel oh well maybe not as news worthy as jonnie getting a puncture on his new bicycle out side his own house

Hmm, somethings are worse than cancer.
I think this is a common misconception based on the fact that viruses themselves are very very small, right? I mean, a virus is like tens to hundreds of NANO-meters. However, they are coming out on exhaled breath, which is pretty close to saturated (90+% relative humidity) So the air is full of tiny water vapor particles, and the virus itself is going to be hitching a ride in one of those droplets.
Of course, those vapor particles are also very small, so a cloth mask will not catch all of them. But it does turn into a numbers game - if X number of particles contain virus, the mask catches Y percent, and you need to inhale Z particles in order to come down with the disease, then anything we do to limit the total viral load helps.
People throwing their hands up and saying, “There is nothing to be done” is what got us to where we are today. More than 3700 people died from this thing yesterday, and it looks like that number is just going to keep growing until we get a handle on it. We have the knowledge to stop this thing, we just lack the will. There are plenty of countries around the world that have returned to measure of normalcy - I suspect the US is going to finish this global race in about the bottom 10%. For no reason other than stubbornness. USA! NUMBER ONE hundred seventyish ! It doesnt have the same ring to it, does it?

I think ya’all missed the first point, all these people didn’t, and don’t have to die from this. There are treatments that work if administered early, but they are keeping it from us. How you got religion out of this, I don’t know, not to say we don’t need more. This is a women that was on the front line from the beginning, and got fired for curing every one of her patients that got the treatments early enough.

Have any of you guys had the experience where you are working on something, and you are so sure you are doing everything right, but yet the system fails to work the way you expect it to? And it is maddening, because by all accounts, it should be impossible for it not to work… and then you realize that you overlooked something obvious. You switched two wires, or something. And you might have checked those wires a half dozen times, and each time you concluded they were plugged in, but you did not think to check if they were reversed. And sometimes you invent crazy ideas of why it is not working, because SOMETHING is wrong…
Conspiracy theories rarely, if ever, predict future outcomes. So if a theory fails over and over again, then I think it is worth going back to the very start and systematically looking for the crossed wires… It makes a lot more sense than going back and adding layers of complexity to the theory to explain the new outcome that was unforseen by the original model.
Go back and read about the start of this pandemic and the national level response to it, and I think it will become clearer where the wires got crossed.

Well, Covid is still going strong overhere in the Netherlands. New is the curfew (never heard that word before) since yesterday evening. Lots of riods last night and even during the day. Can’t believe the news , very not-netherlands. Lot of looting and car on fire, covid fast test place on fire, unreal. Last days my friends wife got backstabbed, don’t know why, very unreal. Strange times. Time for vaccination and the normal life!!

So, I got my second vaccine shot on saturday. I didnt have any side effects at all. Some others have reported being pretty sick for a day or two after, but feel irs better that the covid.

I’ve been staying away from this thread on purpose. I do believe this virus is real. I also believe we can only recite what the media feeds us. That has proven to change on a regular basis this past year. I imagine we’ll all get this virus one day. The sad thing is it has been so politicized we don’t know what is real.
What I do know is, I have a good immune system. I supplement my body with Vitamins D,B,C and Zinc. I mostly stay home. I don’t worry about a mask unless I’m forced to wear one. I have my reasons.
I do feel for those whose immune systems are compromised and if mine was, I may handle things differently. I feel fairly safe because there isn’t the density of people here. I just hope we can get back to normal soon. I refuse to accept any ‘New Normal’.
I wish I could’ve watched Al F’s video. It has been taken down, so I’m guessing it had a lot of truth in there.

Make sure you D vitamins include D3 Bill. They say it’s not available from just sunlight. I don’t know about that but I do take it as a supplement. Totally agree with all you said.

I enjoy reading opinions from others, but mostly i enjoy that people are still there…
I live in the middle of a factory, about 1600 workers, and i am the person who make people wear masks… ( even the boss in the office wear masks all the time )
We all take the responsibility to care for another, the Covid 19 is not interested in politics or opinions…
Thailand does believe in karma and the inevitable an yes there are even people here that oppose…
But over all, Thailand is doing a good job in limiting the spread, following up and preventing bad outcome. despite some morons that triggered the last outbrake.
in general, people here are afraid to end up the way as done elsewhere…
To convince some hardheads we compared the Covid 19 with an easy recognisable substitute:
What is the first thing you do if you get a sniff of stinky pigshit in your nose ? yep, you cover your nose…
The second thing you do ? yep, you cover the pigshit…
similar for smoke or other pungent smells…
So mask up and contain the shit, wash your hands and be clean.

Don’t you enjoy the dentist wearing a mask when he is breathing in your open mouth ?
Or would you enjoy a surgery by a coughing non mask wearing filthy surgeon ?

I watched the video to the end. The doctor was giving her presentation to an audience in a church. Church isn’t where you go for knowledge about covid-19. Church is where you go to reaffirm your faith in whatever religious culture you believe in.
@Bill Schiller, the media outlets all have an agenda, so I understand your confusion. The facts about Covid-19 are easily researched if you have an internet connection. You do not have to be a victim of agenda.
The video Al linked to, offered an amazing truth, that is being echoed by doctors world wide… namely that Ivermectin stops Covid19.
There is also convincing evidence that big pharma (Merck) does not want you taking Ivermectin, because it is too cheap for them to make a profit on.
This has revealed huge failures in the US health care system…which I find disgusting.

My Nurse Wife had her 1st Covid-19 vaccination on January 21st. Minimal reaction. Later “Covid-arm” at the injection site for a week.
And she just had her 2nd dose booster three days ago. Only a six hour chills reaction 2nd day after.
This was the Moderna version.
Ha! Ha! She seems normal long-term married Wifie.
No robot-braining. No unusual behaviors. Just her normal foster-Grandma’ness.
In my Group classification they are still working on the 80’s year old folks.
So do not expect a request call until m-a-y-b-e MAY this year.
So any oddness from me . . . . is just normal, me.

Ivermectin works. I get this from two people Doctors, and one Veterinarian Doctor.

I, like BillS. take my specific vitamin and mineral daily boosters. Our choice.
And just as important; move to sweating daily.
And I do wear masks. Just the same as I would public beach wear a set of shorts/trunks.
I do hand sanitize in&out of public common spaces. Health or not. That is just social common senses.
And no common colds or flues household here since last February. Very non-typical for us. Some of these measures are working. Period.
