Welcome Max,

Hello Mr. Dan,

I was still a little hot yesterday when I made the post and my have over reacted so I deleted it early this morning .

Would you believe she had just reached in the back seat to get the peanut bridle you gave her ( I will send you a bill LOL ) and hadn’t got the belt over her shoulder properly when she waved at the the trooper. If she hadn’t of waved at him she would have had time to get the belt back into place . .

Another thing that kinda rubbed me was in 1979 there was a jail break in that area and I was able to catch both escapes after a several mile chase but missed my Grand Mothers funeral in doing so .

I have cooled down to ambient temp but she hasn’t !!

Wayne .

Steve U,
You’re right, it does get easier. If you are in the Burlington area again, and you’re not chasing a ferry, you are invited to visit the roastery. I’m normally here Mon-Thur, give me a heads up I’d be glad to give you a tour.

Here’s where the roastery is located:

The party ain’t over till the speaker’s blown … M

Wayne,
You might want to drive separate trucks just in case you get pulled over so you both don’t go to jail[I wonder which one Tally would bail out first?]This time next year you will be laughing about it OK you will I’m not so sure about the wife.
Take care I’m sure there is plenty catch up work to do.Dan

Folks I found out today that Ebay was hacked. Though they claim no user’s financial info was accessed in the hack everyone should change their passwords.
I know some of us use ebay to find a lot of our stuff. I figured id bring it up in case anyone missed it.

The wife, son and I just rode into town for supper in my BIG ole wood burning truck . My friend pulls up beside in his white pick up . We eat , have fellowship and then drive back home in my little wood burning truck.

That thing is UP THERE!!! I like those stacks!!! A lot!!!

Yes Herb,

That thang is up there!!!. More truck than anyone would need . ( or should I say more payments than anyone needs )

Hey Henry A.

I just went by the feed store and they pitched in a couple bundles of plastic sacks . There may be between 30 and 50 ?

Couple of weeks late or they would have been yours . I will bring them the next time we meet.

Hey Wayne, I barely made it to your place last time I was there. If I didn’t have large tires and 4WD and knew where your driveway was from the past trip I would have been feeding the turtles :o) … I know why houses are on stilts there … My little red truck would not have a chance like when we got stuck in the mud getting wood from the barn … Mike

Wishing all a great Memorial Day .

Wayne

Wish I could enjoy some barbecue today but Mother nature wouldn’t wait . Got to get in the hay fields .

HWWF ( have wood will farm )

I can always use more sacks! I hope everyone is enjoying their Memorial Day with friends and family.

I was with the wife this morning at Kroger (grocery store chain) and found these for sale (see Photo). Wood Chips/Chunks of all shapes sizes and flavors. I’m sure these have probably been sold elsewhere, it was just the first time I noticed them for sale in a store.

I get the Jack Daniels smoking chips (made from their old oak aging barrels), they MIGHT add a little extra flavor to smoked meat. And I guess I get the idea of selling apple, hickory and mesquite smoking chips for city dwellers with small smokers and no access to wood (all items on top shelf).

But the wood cooking chunks on the bottom shelf? And, interestingly, they are sold by volume (9.3L) instead of weight…If they were actually selling any considerable volume of these (I assume they aren’t judging by the shelf space) we’d be better off selling wood chunks for cooking and buying gas for our trucks! HAHA… You’d need two of these to replace a gallon of gas, at about $17 (ish) depending on which “flavor” you prefer to drive on,… what a racket.

Too bad I didn’t think of this first…

Henry, Ain’t it a grin ?? I just bagged up a couple of sacks. Supposed to rain later … Mike
PS, I melted down 2 of my onion sacks on my Argos trip. I have to change my ways and not stick them in the hopper so far …

Driving up to the lake this weekend I spotted this. I know I have seen this on my way up in the years past, but this past winter reading posts about wood dryers allowed me to see this structure with a different pair of eyes.

No hay here, Wayne, but lots of weld to lay down  Worked half a day at the mill, (got sun burned) doing outside wiring, then to the shop to weld. We are beneficiaries of a hard won freedom that allows us to do all this good stuff. Thanks to all our Veterans.

Couldn’t of said it better, Carl!

Billy, Could you recommend another Kansas or Missouri venue for next year’s thing or a second thing in the fall ?? It was way too hot for me when we met in June by Joplin but the drive was fine and we could get guys like you and Chris Seymour to make it. and you could meet some of the other guys from Arkansas etc … I slid on ice in Salina Kansas on 10/10/09 … That was hard for me to believe but it has snowed many times on or near my birthday. Argos is a great location but put simply, my summer is over now … Back to work . I’m just thinking out loud. We had a pretty nice ceremony at our local cemetery. I knew probably 60 of the people that were on the list to be remembered. Crap, I’m getting old … In case you don’t believe my ice story, I drove all the way to Vega Texas that day … Here’s the pic … oops … I posted it on the old yahoo site … It is not on mine … I did it from a hotel room … I’m looking forward to blowing up some more of your bulbs … Mike L

Hi, Mr. Wayne!

Thank you for accepting my application!
There is always something new to learn.
Max

Thank you, Mike!

Fredrik has just had a demonstration gasifier built by a technical school, Eerin has Tig-welded the chairman’s modifications, including a non-shakeable (not needed) grate. Trouble-less performance…
Have no sea-side island plans before the Audi and Micra are in order; the Micra has got its “new” 1,2 liter scrapyard motor, compression pressures very eaven at 14 Bar in every cylinder! Sings a merry tune…
