Still cold at night warms up to about -4 c but the sun has lots of power now , snows starting to melt
Been building bridges for last couple months so haven’t been building on gasifier, just installed starlink today so now I can download pics and stuff fast, a couple more weeks and I can get back to building, had to split up another cord of tamarack cause winter dragging on.
30°f here, wet and muddy, with 1/2 inch snow on top of it… still waiting for spring, i’ve got a lot of work to do outside
Interesting contraption, Giorgio, i didn’t see the driveshaft at first. Can you explain the use of the seat on top of the “hub”?
Please don’t say one have to sit there, going round, round?
Thanks for the education Don. Now I know what LOL means. We were about 90 per cent snow free until yesterday and then got an unwelcome 7 inches. And I was anxious to get the out door furniture out of the greenhouse so i could start moving plants out there and do some remodeling.
No point Tom. Just sit down for a short rest on the sled and before you know it fall is here
The little logging-wagon coming together nice, a little stuff to fix, like hitch/coupling and the log stakes (?)
Nice build.
yes göran, the horse "driver " sits in the middle…with the whip…but believe me, this job is really boaring, would need someone who likes going on roundabout…i, after some turns stand always up and prefer to go behind the horse, but there were always some km to walk, when it runs for some hours…the disadvantage is you need always a person , willing to do this job, and of course a willing horse…we used it for twenty years, now progress enters in our life with motors and chargas…
Yes - the reinforcement can be broken if you simply drop the grinder once and if it falls on the disk… I was protected from more than one injury by wearing flannel long sleeve shirts all year.
My father would not have cut off disks in our shop because of the horrible danger that they can be. I did not start using them in a hand grinder until I had run a shop for over 40 years.
I think the current alternator is a Si12, the one you refer to is an Si27.
I think it goes four hours per full tank.
I goes long enough that I forget about it.
The crazy thing is I have thought it’s a L60 this past decade.
Do you like the L100? Is it electric start?
Yeah I like my clone, and it is electric start with a 2a(I think) battery charger/stator setup. I think these used to be called Launtops but a lot of factories make them.
It doesn’t smoke a whole lot if I crack the whip on the throttle so this one is very dialed in.
first real signs of spring here on the wet side of Washington
THAT looks like a young chicken-how much are you getting for a dozen eggs, or how many eggs are you selling, i been thinking i shoud get about 6 chickens- Or are there a minimum number of chickens for a healthy flock.I eat a lot of eggs, and home farmed chickens would be much healthier.I usually eat at leiste 3 or four eggs a day.Looks like one of your eggs got eaten in the nest.THANKS.
It isn’t witch hazel, witch hazel is native to North America, japan and china and I don’t believe is related to hazelnuts. It looks like a european filbert, which hazelnuts and filberts names are used interchangeably. Specifically it looks like a “Harry Lauder walking stick” which is a european type of filbert. It is used for hedges and fences and decor as well as nuts.
You are 100% correct, Sean, i looked it up right now, what we call “ormhassel” in Sweden (snake hazelnut) is the same as “Harry Lauders walking stick” altought Google translate told me “ormhassel”=witch hazel, which i believed was correct, because it’s sometimes called “trollhassel” here, which hints about “magic” or “witchcraft”.
