Ya i seen the weather out your way it looks like been extra cold. that last 6 years before this one seemed like too cold too stay in my state of Michigan.The last coulple years havent been as bad here in michigan.Part of the reason was that the planets were blocking part of the sun for about 5 years, so they said it would be colder after 2014.for few years.

Hey Mike, do you recall what gear ratio was in your axle? I’m planning out my chunker build and it will be a close copy to yours. Also did you weld all your bracing for the anvil and motor directly to the axle tube? I wasn’t paying to close of attention, got exciting to be actually chunking instead of table sawing

It was from a 1 ton box truck, 4:11 ratio, 2 hp 1750 rpm electric motor 240 volt. Chunker rpm is 33 per minute.
I have the mirror image of the 12” pipe I cut on a diagonal if you need it.

Well that would save me some messing around haha and I would get a chance to look your chunker over a little closer if your around home I could swing by this weekend?

Sure and then I could check out your truck.
The 12” cut pipe will need a CW rotation facing the axle.
I can fix you up with 4 bags (120 lb) of dry chunks.

Not necessary but wet 8’ lengths would be fine.
