50 gallon trash bags make a good pop
I was wondering about that Goran, leaning the mix makes sence, but just a litle acetylene is no joke.
Easter shooting with acetylene and black powder mortars has is a big tradition here. So are the related acidentsā¦
Someone was standing on a 55gal drum, half burried in the ground trying to push it lower in the soil when it went off. Lost both legs.
The other guy filled garbage bags at work and transported the whole car full of them home. Yes, people used to do thisā¦ his daughter carried the bag on the feald when it went off. Stripped her clothes off and her body was all in small tears, but she survived.
My neighbour filled garbage bags in his workshop a few years back. His sintetic trousers had to produce a spark, luckly the bag was only starting to fill when it went off. Windows and doors were thrown out.
Yes! Those plastic bags always scare the sh*t out of me, carrying them, and almost feel how they get charged with āstatic electricityā.
I knowed a bunch of āmadmansā once they drove around in a old VW van, drinkin and smoking, the floor filled with 2 liter bags, filled with acetylene and oxygen
Nothing happened though, but i didnāt wanna go with them when they asked , by the way: their invention was to duck-tape one of them pull-string fire crackers to the bag, with some longer string they made really loud trip line trapsā¦
Myself i prefer a milk jug with calcium carbide and water, feels more safe, atleast when i saw on youtube how people in Netherlands use a plastic soccer-ball instead of the lid, much safer to launch.
I used to do the fuse trick too.
A nother one is also interesting, plastic botles filled with the mix and capped, then you fill airgun pellets skirts with a shock sensitive compound (ground matches and strips). Load the pellet skirt first in the airgun and shoot the botle. It will ignite when it pearces the plastic.
Safest way of lighting and filling ghe bags is with a long thin hose thugh. You can light the hose from far too, flame will travel trugh it to the bag.
Man we just filled the trash bag let it float up 20-30 feet and hit it with a dragons breath shot shell from a 12ga, burning magnesium lights real quick and itās a real nice light show in the dark. Good enough the neighbor on the other side of the valley will come some what the hell your doing when his living room lights up like the switch was turned on
gƶran has infected us with the gasifier motorcycle virusā¦some days ago we found thisā¦optimal for creativityā¦instead of the gasoline tank i think to weld there a propane tankā¦
motor briggs 5 hp with reduction gearā¦but must construct a frictionā¦should become not fast but strong for climbing up our mountainsā¦rear wheel is only provisoric for home transportā¦
Looking forward to follow this giorgio.
Is it a Piaggio?
I like it when you guys with other mother tongues help me learn english words that I never use and I have to look them up. This site is a wealth of information in more ways than one!
Had to look that one up myself Don. I like the sound of it. Kind of sounds like something you would take if you were constipated.
Beta is Spanish? They make trial bikes too.
Used to work with Beta tools, that is Italian. Rare in those days, now you see it more often.
Edit, Beta motors is Italian too.
don, when i not remember a word in american english, i use mostly oxford english or esperantoā¦this keeps the brain fresh and fantasy alifeā¦also from readersā¦
gƶran, i dont know, i think how joep has saidā¦
first i must finish the other projectsā¦
Got any details about the engine? 2 stroke?
kristijan, you meant me or joep?
i found the moped without motor, but will use than 4 stroke engine
You Giorgio.
Oh l see. Probably easyer yes. But l do have some experiance with two strokers too and l will revisit them some day. They actualy do good with woodgas. Lubrication isnt that hard either. They are real easy to increase the compression and the 50cc one l got realy did good on charcoal. But only with water injection, without hydrogen umit wuld barely run. I did as you plan, big reducting gear on the back wheal.
How do you do lubrication on a two stroke on wood gas?
I started with just a drip and it worked well, then l decided its not complicated enaugh and mounted on a scooter oil metering pump, loads of work, ireliable, complicatedā¦ so next time its gonna be a KISS again. A simple drip
Iām a big fan of simple myself. How was the oil fed into the cylinder. Hole drilled in the head?. I wonder how many drips would be in 3.2 ounces of oil which would be 40 to 1 in a gallon of gasoline in a chainsaw.
No between the carb and the cilinder. Not ideal but it worked fine. I calculated fuel consumption per minute and then transformed that to drops of oil per minute.
Doing it this way saves one 2 stroke problem, since it sucks oil also without throtle. Thats prolonged downhill drive. Almost no oil gets to the engine in those situations, wich is a probem on our mountainous land. It wastes some oil thugh and can lead to spark plug clogging.
It would be interesting to try wood gas on a two-stroke engine, I imagine that the lubrication would work well if the wood gas was sucked through the oil filter, it would be good if the gas entered hotter or warm, this would create an oil mist and the gas would be well purified at the same time. I would also install a small tube directly on top of the crankcase, where I could occasionally push a few drops of oil directly towards the rotating shaft of the engineā¦
