Flux core is good, up until recently that’s all I’ve used. Inverter welders will weld more cleanly.
Does your plasma cutter do tig and stick? And have you tried?
I bought a CUT50 it’s only for plasma cutting. I use different welders for different applications. My Flux Welder from Simder does do DC Stick though, and if I got a special wand I could probably do scratch TIG. If I wanted to adapt one to TIG though I’d use my little lunch pail inverter stick welder.
I was looking at the cheapo ones, but I think they came out and dropped in price after you got yours. I probably should get one before the prices skyrocket if they haven’t already.
You need the gas control which the plasma has for the airline, and the torch of course, that is why they can roll with a 3 in 1 version for so cheap. The high frequency start circuit bumps up the price like 15 bucks. If you convert the flux core, you need to add the gas control then you basically have enough for MIG as well but because of the laws around here the hose and mig gun actually would cost more then the welder. lol
