I like the simplicity of your build. A round tube put into a container. I made mine very complicated with a square fire box, with a plate corrugated top for more surface, and a complicated chimney that ran the length of the container in the water. Spent two months at night inside the square fire box fixing pin hole air leaks like you with air pressure and soap and water. Then the chimney running in the water cooled the stake temperature until the entire chimney was full of black gooy tar. Once a year I had to drop my welding torch down the chimney and get the tar burning, the run a steel pipe air hose down to fan the fire. Before I got the tar burned out my entire water system was boiling. How do you day “over design?”. TomC
