Thanks Sean, that’s very kind of you
Don, this song is included in a play I saw live once. It’s about the hardships of poor Swedes emigrating to America 150+ years ago. A true masterpiece.

Hey J.O.
I have two long Swedish movies recorded saved on my DVR.
The Emigrants made in 1971
The New Land (Nybyggama) made in 1972
Jan Troll director/screen adapted. Based on a four book series Sista brevel till Sverige written by Vilhelm Moborg in 1959.
Great, great story of why leave Sweden back in mid 19th century. And the trial and tribulations of settling new land in Minnesota. No longer willing to endure the closed society of land-owners and the Church as state authority in their birth country.
Main actors were Max von Sydow and Liv Ullmann. Taken out to 3-4 generations.
This song sang well, fits these movies well.
In my wife’s old family library is some of the same time frame from Germany came here on her mother side.
Everyone here has a past how/why they came here story. Often somewhat ugly.
I am glad that overall the world has advanced. And that we live in the time that we do.
Regards
Steve Unruh
Another old one I ran up on .
Making smoke on purpose .
Mr. Bob you may recognize one of the wood burners
deleted post -that was a good one.THOUGH.
Great song. Sings of your home place. Where your heart was born and will always live.
Sorry English-as-a-second language fellows; no CC available on this one. Copywrites, I expect.
WayneK, this one is for your Lisa.

Steve Unruh
that song is -great-, but only if you have good stereo sound.
Wow, Cody! Those last two selections, good music each one, but that transition could cause whiplash!
Religious music not found in any hymnal. Circa 1968. In 1968 Yummy Yummy Yummy I got love on my tummy was a hit song. This one was not.
I wanted to sing this around the campfire at Argos but seems that @Chris or no one else was old enough to remember it.
From the man who wrote A Boy Named Sue comes a tribute to the Man in Black:A Front Row Seat to Hear Ole Johnny Sing - YouTube
Thanks Mike. That was a real mood elevator. Try this one. A Mackinaw is a water resistant wool coat in case you non-Michiganders didn’t know.
You really can’t go wrong with The man in black.
Until you try to play it with Amazon’s Alexa and do not have premium service.
“Alexa play one piece at a time by johnny cash”
“Sorry you must be subscribed to Amazon premium to play johnny cash”
“Alexa play The devil went down to Georgia”
starts playing a remake
“alexa stop”
“alexa play the devil went down to Georgia by Charlie Daniels”
“Playing charlie daniels random shuffle”
some song
“alexa skip” (repeat 5 times)
“sorry the maximum number of skips per hour is 6”
This was my learning experience with stupid alexa tonight.
Unless Alexa has a nice rack and can make a pizza I don’t want her coming around.
