yeah basically. Yup an hour glass shape. but no curves all sides are flat.
So yeah its been a crazy ride since 2012 to now. This went from a garage to quickly evolving into a commercial operation and then come crashing down as fast as it grew. Left me homeless for a number of years and trapped inside a business I couldn’t get out of. These are the times you get creative, these are the times you really figure things out, this is when you really figure out how to make it work. Failure is never an option, when you fall; you pick yourself up, brush off and stand stronger. As you guys here know Ive re invented the company and we have finally reached commercialization.
The 2023 DFX is now design finalized for mass production. Ive converted the shop into a micro scale production factory and we are now working on restructuring the company. Its way more than designing a gasifier, its designing processes around the product and designing the product around the processes. Ill be posting video soon of the new shop layout and our new 6 kW inverter and battery system. Been trying to get here for 10 years we are finally there! Once we get everything set up and get this shop running like a fine watch Ill then resume the Versifire an wrap up what we have in current development.
Will I be done with development? NO Silly its what I do!! haha. Yes absolutely I will be working on the next generation of the DFX Series. But I promise you these gasifiers will be refined well beyond anything ever seen before. Next generation will have more advanced production methods refining them to a much higher levels of modern standards, while lowering cost quite a bit. Even at the lower pricing mild automation will be added. We will work on increasing performance along with better raw fuels mixture capability’s and ease of use and servicing. This will more than likely be a two to three year development process; as everything will be engineered from raw materials receiving to the packing used to ship them. Then another year or two implement all that.
We have now broken all sales records as far as number of sales. I dont know the exact number but it is around 46 units with a gross rev of $180,000 and the year is not over. Although this is not our record gross rev; it will be our highest ever net margin. This will be invested back into the company to mass produce for stock at a time when we get slow. Ill have more exact numbers once our accountant gets our financials done. She will be very busy with all that and our restructuring. Thrive Off Grid will no longer be our manufacturing company, this will be Thrive Energy Systems as that was the business plan as I restructured in 2016. Thrive Off Grid will become our store front and it is supposed be an online store / re distributor for anything off grid. For now it will just sell our systems; hopefully in the next year we start becoming a distributor for other products.
But anyways here is some eye candy, this is the 2023 production version
If that was a girl i would run away with her and live happy ever after , gotta admit that’s one fine looking piece of work you have constructed there Matt , i think my oil drums gonna have to go into the recycling bin pretty soon .
Dave
Question for Matt , or anyone else that has a new inverter generator , i am being offered a 8.6 KVA silent gen that’s a up date on the model i have always used , now the new ones have fuel injection , just wondering if any of you guys run injectors as well or are they standard carb type ones your using .
All the best Dave
Whoa! nice. FI is no big deal. Just shut the fuel pump off. install is the same as carbureted.
Yeah i sorta guessed that would be the way to do it , i also wondered if i could use a rheostat like the DOW guys do for hybriding when i have a larger power demand , fingers crossed i have talked him down to a price i can afford and will collect this evening .
Thanks
Dave
I’d say FI is less fuss. No worry about a little dust clogging jets up.
I’d also buy it especially since it will be wood gassed but fuel pumps are another thing that can fail and may be hard to get replacements for and injectors fail just like carbs clog. I know how to clean and rebuild carbs. I guess I just always have the urge to thow in my troglodyte opinions.
Dave what you are going to find in the same small engine going carburetor to fuel injection is that the internal throttle bore will be much more open. The gasoline carburetor NEEDS a strong venturi effect to suck pull the fuel. Then mist it mixed with the air.
FI’s have very little venturi narrowing.

Well looks like i have committed my self to buying the generator as i have arranged to collect tomorrow evening now , if the Fi does not work well for me its no big deal as its a clone GX390 cylinder head replaceable i already have 2 of this older model and the current one is now getting very tired , this one has a 180 hours on the clock so should last me a while and i managed to talk him down to $500 i think you will find that’s around $ 335 odd of your money so its a good deal for a slightly larger KW head with F1 .
In all the years of running this model generator the only issue ever has been a sticking or seized butterfly throttle due to corrosion between the shaft of the butterfly and carb body .
Dave
Up date , collected generator this evening and got home with it in the back of the truck , on opening up the canopy to have a proper look i could smell the stale fuel without even opening the fuel tank , now I did get him to fire it up and plug something in to test it before handing over the money ,and all seemed pretty good nice and quiet no smoke and about 190 hours on the clock . so once i got home i decided it needs an oil change and maybe have a nose at the FI set up .
Bugger Bugger Bugger , it has the injection label on the side cover but that’s as much injection as this unit does have , its a standard GX390 with carb and stepper motor …
Oh well no biggy really least its all working , maybe will contact the seller and see if he has the history on this unit but i somehow doubt it .
Dave
So here is the genuine 2023 production model of the very first DFX-S4 RTR standing next to the 2023 DFX-S3. The S3 is not a small gasifier! That thing is just gigantic! lol
We will be slowing down temporarily for like a month and then back to the madness as this next year will more than likely be busier than ever before. So hopefully Ill finally have some time to work on the VersiFire. I am targeting late March for first test runs and we also have the new automation add on package to get ready as well.
Matt
I can swear on a stack of Bibles I saw you sleep at Argos back in the 20teens. Just saying
Is it a knock-off or distributor? (surprised tone suggests copy)
Its a knock off. He has litterally taken pics from our website and other places and using them as his own advertisement.
I dont care if anyone makes a copy they are open source. However, reproduction for profit is a different story. Dont know how its built internally so he is probably ok. lol
The “M” in M-Treasure Co must stand for Matt, or Michigan!
Taking treasures of ideas from you.
Where is this company located? It’s obvious, since he used your color scheme that he is trying to convince people that your published videos and information also relate to his units. It’s sad. I’m sure you have thought of making a video on your site revealing what is being done like they did with the offgrid48 scammers.
I could be wrong but it looks like the lettering is Thai.
