Trailer project

Does it have any “decking” yet, and do you want/need any currently?

Good morning Chris .

The steel will stay with you a lot longer than bananas :grinning:

Some of the steel I am building these gasifiers from I accumulated when I was about your age .

Took along one banana for breakfast. Brought home 1500 lbs of steel, some of it 20 feet long. Trailer rides OK, a bit bouncy though. I think because its close to being balanced, lifts up on the hitch sometimes. No sway, it pulls very straight.

Brian, the floor will be 12 gauge steel, since I didn’t find any 14 gauge. It’s smooth, durable, and easy to shovel/clean.

I also learned I need to add some D rings or hooks for tie-down points.

@MarvinW I’m using the bowtie tie-downs you posted last week. They seem to work OK for lighter stuff. Certainly a good deal! Thanks for the link.

Very nice Chris.
If I didn’t know better, it almost looks like you have another trailer waiting to be built sitting on that trailer.

Oh, you never know…

I think they’ll be good for bundling things, not really a tie down though.
Trailer looks good.

Extra nice trailer. Mine is bent down like a banana behind the rear axle…

That looks great, ambitious, practical, and fun!
