Wood supply

Sorry Joep, but I don’t understand any of your writing  Except the character thing.

Venjic is used by Panoramix, I think? Remember it vagely from another topic.

Electric rebak is woodprocessing the zen way.

Ah, the druid :+1: And rebak = zen. Of course

Imagine if I understood how much I should remove so that the rest will be good. I think it’s hard to thin the forest.
I wonder if I’ve made half of the small pieces for the winter.

Some amusement in the Swedish jungle.

I cut, split and stacked my own firewood already in April. Some customers order late and don’t seem to worry much about drying time. Well well - I get to keep all the limbs for the rebak. Two birds - one stone.

Spent some time in the amusement park today.
There are two summer-cabin neighbours next to our woodlot down by the river.
“This tree is leaning, those trees are blocking our evening sun, do you have some firewood for sale and we’d like to buy three boards of that dimention in the bottom layer of your stack.”
Phew! They know how to keep me busy.

Cleaning up some after the beaver down by the river. A good start on next year’s firewood supply. Lots of chunking material also.

Oh, and last week another grandson popped out.

Congrats grandpa, looking healthy.

Incredible the beaver teeth. We have some too, Reintroduced and now a plague in some places. Last week we were jetskiing and looking for some place to rest. Coming ashore very careful for the rocks and then the rock moved :grinning: and swims away.
Big rock and a blind old man.

Thanks Joep!
Yeah, I sat on the riverbed once watching a small head gently plowing its way towards me through the water surface. The beaver then crawling ashore snatching a few bushes only meters from me and back into the water again with his new material. Apparently they don’t see very well either

Heavy equipment is useful sometimes. Fortunately I beefed up when I built my crane. Sturdy 2" square tubing

Wow. We are not having that much fun but still enjoying my work. Crazy.

A truckload of pipes

And after some french fries the magic happens.

Conifers on the landplot just have to wait until…?
Only two IBC s last year instead of 25. All scrapped pallets.

Joep, I never understood burning pallets. Last time I checked (years ago), you get 10€ a piece if you return them - at least regular EUR-pallets. I was under the impression it’s the same in all of the EU.

One more thing. Maybe you told us, but what do you actually do for a living? Self-employed I assume. You seem to put in a lot of hours.

Euro pallet is around €2.5. Bar/cafe talk €10 (that reminds me, I have to collect some money for the euro pallets last week )

We design and build dust extractors for the woodindustry. I was always treated it as a hobby club, now with the boys following me I have to get serious. A little talk here and there made it explode. Normally one installation every two weeks, now 7 in one week (new record, 6 hours for the last one I forgot). I told the boys after the holidays I am going to retire , haha, maybe next year after the holidays.

Pipes for the installations come in special crates and this is what I use for heating the house.

I hope the boys give me some spare time for woodgas.

Tomorrow this experiment has to go in storage, waiting for better days.

I just had to check. Apparently up here you get €15 - €30 for a used pallet nowdays - depending on condition.

Taking a rest from logging today. Decided to go clean up some limbs for the chunker instead.
Not needed, but I produced some smoke, just to get some cool pics. I think I heard a squirrel cough nearby
