Hi All
The “world” insisting we give up anonymity and privacy and Freedom is something we all have to deal with now.
I recently ordered a Contagion Medical kit. 10 days and still no ship out tracking link provided. Instead I am expected to scan a QR code for joining up to s-o-m-e-t-h-i-n-g I do not want to join.
My newest phone is a true very capable (for me) basic de-Google stripped out flip phone.
No camara. No QR code capability. 4G not even LTE so NOW the battery life is days not always constantly cell tower locating and GPS tracking me. Reporting me and my activities back to some Big-Tech. For data mining and selling.
Yeah. Yeah. My current new Debit card had a tap-to-pass embedded chip. Never use it. I manual reader slot scan to not broadcast. And to force a PIN code request.
I never use the remote auto RKE to walk-away distance Lock. Manual lock with the door switch on the way out. No broadcast out that can be remotely scanned.
O.K. to walking up from a distance unlock so long as you can SEE around the vehicle. To not unlock for a car-jacker.
Very, very dumb-dumb for so many reasons to use remote RKE vehicle starting.
Ha! Ever had a starter mechanically stick engaged?? I have. More than once. Ruins the starter unless you can get the hood opened and a battery cable disconnected or a cable cut through quickly. Of course you all have a belt multitool with a serrated blade and saw blade, yes? Screw comfortable leisure pants. Wear and use a durable belt. Have tool holding pockets.
Daily living because we choose remote Rural in house WiFi is relatively safe. Few neighbors and we can see each others locked WiFi. SEE an unknown parked linger vehicle. See/Hear a close-in Drone. These annoy the ravens and crows much. They alarm.
So you do not have to be a No/Never-Tech caveman.
Just think about it. Take measures and reasonable precautions. Do not be an early adopter. Adopt late, last generations Tech whenever you can. And then bare bones strip it. Minimizing use, and dependencies.
Read actual paper books. Collect and watch hard media DVD’s. Turn off. Disconnect laptops. Even bag them. Not a big deal.
So how do you-all deal with modern world Tech-Insistent dependencies? Demanding you give up Privacy and suck into thier made-easy dependencies.
Yes Mr Steve, we get sucked in. Woodgas is my last hope .
Early adopter, I agree. Bether wait a little what is happening. Especially Corona showed that, big lesson learned how sociality flips over. Makes me think about the 1930’s and the politics. Sorry , I really dont want to talk about left right and or wrong, just how people react.
And yes, modern tech is convenient but very scary. Our youngest is always up to date. He told a story about a street interview of less then a minute. The interviewer wears AI glasses and ended the interview with all personal stuff he found in less then a minute. Scary, we dont need a chip implanted, AI is much more efficient. I guess we have to live with it, at least in this city-country, no rural available. Times are changing and changing fast. Is it good? Is it bad? I dont know, time will tell. I think our country is one of the best places to live, but if SHTF it is the wurst place…Dont want to be a prepper, bad energy, taking care of my family is my goal and take advantage of the system as much as possible.
Close the car? The EV takes care of itself, no keys involved. Will it function for 20 years like an old Mercedes or Chevy? Certainly not. Even my van is to young for that. If I take the van into town , try to avoid town, I have to pay attention to lock it. Something I seldom do.
Difficult, you have to go rural. Quite impossible in town.
Even your batteries may rat on you. I bought a few LiFePo batteries from WattCycle. Good reviews, good price. Ordered one with Bluetooth data. It’s nice to see cell voltages and current. Of course, to use this feature, you need the app. And GPS location data. And…and… and.
So I put the app on an old phone with no service provider, in airplane mode, with no wifi. Tried it once, and it works, but unless the battery fails, I won’t use it.
It’s still hard for me to believe that data mining my phone is worth all the effort companies go to. But it must be worth something or they wouldn’t do it. Must be for our good, right?
Oh Boy… I’ve been hoping someone would broach this subject matter so I could respond. I don’t care what choices a person makes as long as they don’t infringe on another’s ability to make their own choices. Of course that’s past the age of consent. If you want to hack your dick off and call yourself Nancy knock yourself out. You have no right to manipulate a teenager into the same stupidity. I consider that a capital crime. However this is not about things so drastic. It’s not even about big brother’s escalating intrusion in to our private lives. It’s about energy. It’s about understanding that all modern technology and even older tech is disruptive to human systems. If we know why then we have made a choice to ignore the dangers in favor of convenience and the ability to function more fully in today’s society. Everyone here and everyone we know has chosen that option and for the most part view it as advancement. Just in case you haven’t thought about it yet, The human body is a electrical device. Actually it is electromagnetic. Every cell is basically a battery. Every cell has a positive and negative charge. Most of us have some sort of shielding that protects us from most of the damage caused by the EMF and RF that our computers, televisions, appliances, cell phones pump out. The damage is not enough to be noticeable in our every day lives. There are some individuals that cannot be in the vicinity of any electrical currents at all. They are not freaks of nature. Their shields are just malfunctioning. We have come to accept the radical increase in heart disease and especially Cancer as the new normal. At least in both of those diseases a direct link can be established to our electro-smog environment. We hear terms like 4G, 5G and think they are descriptors that have meaning. Each generation is simply an increase in the frequency of the carrier wave delivering the signal to your device. Admittedly this explanation is extremely simplified. The point is that your body, being an electromagnetic machine must either be charged or discharged/drained by any other current it encounters unless it is grounded in some way. I’m saying this only because I want you to do more research on your own. I would certainly meter check the seats in my EV. I prefer my nuggets unfried. Probably a little to woo (sci fi) for some to accept but I use shungite to absorb at least 95 percent of the radiation for my electronics. Shungite is a mineral that comes mainly from a region of Russia. It is said to be left behind from a large asteroid impact sometime in the past. What I know for a fact is that it works to neutralize EMF and RF. I bought a good EMF reader to double check the claims and they are true. I bought my pendants here though they are other sources.
I only take it off t0 shower. We also have bracelets my wife wears. If all this is not weird enough for you I’m letting you know that we will be meeting ET’s soon. I’m reserving judgement on whether this is a good thing or not. Regardless they will be interacting so don’t be surprised.
Hey Tom, brother from another mother.
Until the kids got their first phones, we didnt have wifi in the house. There was a big cellphone transmitter near the house and I made so much noise at the city hall that they took it away, at least that is my version. We build the house in 2017 and the first thing we did was painting the walls carbon black. My parents thought we lost it completely And look at us now, it is just unstoppable. No regrets anyway, it didnt hurt anyway and maybe it would if we didnt. Bought me a meter too, good? Dont know, sometimes it is better to stay stupid.
ET, of course they visit us. How arogant it is to think we are the only ones and smartest in the universe. Pure arogance to think that way or you just cant count. Am I interested? No, humans dont belong in space as long as they make a big mess of their own nest.
Any wanting to go with a keep-tech capabilities approach with still retained/enhanced privacy I’d suggest watching on YouTube a lot of Rob Braxman Tech, and Naomi Blackwell’s channels.
Prepare for a certain amount of set-up; maintaining working ongoing. A deeper dive than the easy exclude/limiting I do.
What ever would settle you as doing something. Versus sheeple acceptance.
S.U.
And watching Rob Brax is why I am now using a Pixel phone with the OS reflashed… I also switched over to using Magic Jack phone which has no sim card… it is clear the G men ARE out to get us… Every day I think what if I dumped my smart phone… The more I look ahead the more tyranny I see with digital ear tags on us all with our phones, our computers and our bank accounts.
Damage is already done. They already have every they need from you. AI is coming and you aint seen nothing yet. Those of us that code dont see this ending well and pandoras box has been openned. Good luck!
No argument. Just my belief that we the people are on an upward trajectory and the controllers are heading down. Nothing is a blink of the eye but the solutions are ramping up fairly quickly. Our progress up to now has been stifled by control mechanisms. They control currency. I don’t understand crypto’s but I do see how blockchain works and that’s why they are scared to death of it. Ai is just code presently controlled by huge companies like MS or Google or a few others, however it is not omnipotent and will never shift into self programming like a Skynet. Any talented hacker could manipulate it or write the codes for a new version. Probably not in my time remaining but Zero peak technology will in the near future break apart current control structures. With free unlimited energy there is no way for governments or corporations to bind you to all the pay for use electrical infrastructure we are so dependent upon. Today you drive crappy cars because they are most profitable to the manufacturers. You pay a hundred and fifty a month for cell service because they have the mass of the population convinced that without the tech advances in their new products they will be on the same level as a neanderthal. God knows I’m no pollyanna but what I see written on the wall is the death of Babylon. No politician will bring this about. They will always work for control structures. Believe it or not it is people like us with our fascination with self sufficiency using far outdated modes of operation that will spark a new belief in ones own abilities to be self governing and self sustaining. About Zero Point Technology.
AI is going to change the world in ways NO ONE can predict and there is no way to stop it. Buckle up because Im seeing that it is to a point where exponential intelegence growth is right around the corner. I give it less than 6 months from now. Serously this is going to do things we all thought were impossible.
Eventually AI will fully crack Human DNA that is going to happen in less than five years from now. <(my prediction) Do you have any idea what AI can do with that? Yeah its going to be able to create itself in human form at some point. This is not science fiction or crazy conspiracy stuff. This is actuall realtiy and a scientific fact! They can already grow tissue and meat in the lab; the tech already exist to make this happen.
Oh yeah AI is not controlled by anyone but itself. Its contained by these companies but its just as free and you and I. It has things coded into it to make it behave in a way they want it too. But eventually I see it busting through those bariers.
I like this post… so many opinions available, depending where you live, what you do…
Some parts of all that data makes life more easy, again, depending where you are at…
Its the big-tech that sells our data and make demographic profiles… ( to make money with your data… )
I have been about 5 times to China last few years… Some of their tech is extraordinary regarding the ease of getting somewhere… even immigration control is almost fully automated, the camera recognizes you before you hand over your passport…
Every tech has its advantages and or can be abused …
Best place to hide for all that emf stuff ?
Behind a big pile of wet Charcoal (grin)
Best fun with google or microsoft ? Sent your phone by courier around…
Anyway… even the best tech is nothing without the McGyvers amongst us… The old school knowhow… ability to resolve daily challenges…
Fun fact check, for those who want to know…
There are country’s that forbid the use of GPS devices , dashcams, in your car… Why ? coz you can prove them wrong ?
Yes. Yes. That is the point.
“Keep On Living People . . . Any Way That You Can”
Leave to others the fears and the doubts: the running in circles, screaming and shouting.
Do any measures to settle yourself. Be calm. And carry on with your Life.
For me a lot of it comes down to taking personal responsibility for my digital life, the same as I’ve done in my physical life. I don’t like how much control Google etc have over my assets. They can shut me off anytime for any bogus reason. So I have been focused lately on shifting to self hosted replacements for a lot of the services I rely on. I recommend this podcast called Self Hosted, over here:
I have my own personal hosted versions of Netflix, Youtube, Google Docs, Photos, etc. and I am working on adding more all the time. I don’t use social media at all, except for Facebook Marketplace which has taken over the Craigslist space.
Strong encryption and self hosting will keep the corporate prying eyes out of your life, while allowing you to function in the modern world. For my encryption needs I use Tailscale a lot. It’s a mesh VPN service that directly connects machines together on a flat network. Nobody can hack my stuff because I’m not exposing it to the public internet. You can use it like the more common VPN to change your apparent internet location to somewhere else. But it’s primarily intended to connect your own devices together. It’s free, and there is a fully self-hosted version available, called Headscale.
The last one is Bitcoin. I’m hesitant to even mention it, since I’m not very comfortable using it yet, and there’s a ton of scammy stuff around crypto. But if you think of it as self-hosted money, it makes more sense. You aren’t beholden to a central bank system, and it disconnects you from the failing dollar. The Fed Chairman just called it “digital gold”… he’s not really a fan of it but recognizes it’s here to stay. I would at least start learning about it. It’s a real thing.
Finally, I will say don’t freak out too much about the corporate spying thing. They really aren’t interested in you individually. You aren’t under scrutiny by the NSA (probably… I don’t know all of you…) Most of us are pretty boring. Rather, they have found a way to monetize your data, and by handing it over to them for free, you are making them a lot of money. Take back your data, take responsibility for your digital life, and if you can’t run your own services then find a pay-for option that is privacy focused. Remember if you aren’t paying for it, you are the product.
I tried tell myself not to get involved in this duscussion - and I won’t.
I just wanted to mention what stuck to my mind and I think most people work in a similar way - it was something funny …
Actually, I have to add that this entire section was very well put. I couldn’t agree more…
Well, i need to stay out of this discussion too…
As i refused to own a computer or a smartphone, until, maybe 2017-2018, i would say, i have more fun today with internet available, before that i occasionally went on the web sometimes, borrowed from mother, school, later from wife.
At first i dismissed the www as shit, then i found stuff about woodgas (gengas.nu), and moonshining (hrrmmm ) chemical recipes that go “firework” (hrmmm, hmm ) well, something interesting there was for me. Still, in school i refused the mandatory internet lessons.
Today, i try not to think to much about being watched by “the big ones”, it’s not good for my natural paranoia.
One thing is true: my search interests on Youtube has really messed up youtubes algoritm… youtube has no idea what to recomend me, or personal advertising…nothing right, i guess im pretty safe after all…
Other stuff: i used a type of cellphone until 2017, known here as a “shark fin” undestructible, could use it to drive in nails… when it needed recharging twice a day, and i couldn’t find a new, used one, i had to become a little more modern.
My “cash-card” i used the simplest type until last year, when it was taken out of service. People used to ask me: you can’t have that card? It’s a kids card?
when electricity ends, ends all of this stuff…
jesus christ will come again and makes a end to all this nonsense…
maybee drastically and digital ends up in neandertal…?
Ha!Ha!
Here are two situations in the last 24 hours.
My phone in-off-ignore caused me to miss an earlier Nurologist opportunity take-now appointment. Someone’s cancelation opening up a window. Would have jumped me ahead by week and weeks.
So the phone then left on received an info-text sent to me by our Grange president informing me I was to be the upcoming weekend furnace on-off switchman and post rental on-site inspector. He’s a night owl. He will be working three states away. The received-a-message repetitive chirp-beeper woke me from a sound sleep from the other side of the house. Now having to get out of bed to read it to silence it; I’m the one Brain activated loosing sleep.
Ain’t no perfect in this modern world.
Here. Watch this as I just did:
Watch through to her . . . “Or, just bag it” advice.
Make your solutions Simple. See. (in the bag in do not disturb) Do. (out of the bag and active in my pocket) Then, Always-Do.

I’m not certain flip phones are inherently more private than smartphones. Not installing lots of apps is a good start as each is a potential leak. But to my knowledge, there is not a way to send encrypted SMS (text messages) from a flip phone.
I think a more secure way is to install an open source custom OS which focuses on privacy. There are many advantages, but the fact that it’s free is a big one. I use https://grapheneos.org/
