gasiFIAT crawler

the crawler from 1952 begins a new life now, with chargas…hmm very delicious compared to old kerosene…the older story of restoring is to find in historic woodgas tractor topic, but in reallity it is a historic tractor , but was without gasifier, will say a late conversion, therefore a new topic

Wow Giorgio. You’re like the Da Vinci of gasifiers.

recently we finished restoring the cart of the crawler (with the help of a hydraulic extractor , a good friend brought me…) and constructed a water bubbler in the filter bottom with starter bypass…
today the tractor goes to real work…after plowing and some rain a lot of weeds are grown on the field…first we tried with the motorcultivator and the horse harrow, but this morning we have had difficult with starting, probably the valves need some grinding…so we decided to try the crawler with the horse harrow, because his harrow - a heavier tool- is not ready yet…

Very nice looking crawer, built the same year I was born. And now with the shine of stainless steel gasifier, it will run for another 73 years God willing. Love all the stainless steel work you are doing.

It seems to me that Giorgio has a much better supply of different variety ss details than I do

don, yes, i weld all with the batteries, i cut the 1,5 mm welding elektrodes in half pieces, so there is no trembling with this kind of fine elektrodes…

some more pictures…the bypass valve for starting…so gas must not be forced through the water, what is also impossible with a hand blower
