Hi, yes Norman. The last few blue-bird clear, clear cold days have been wonderful for traveling and seeing.
Wife and I day tripped out to the beaches at Longview/Ocean Shores and then late lunched at Ilwaco port. I longed for the smell, sounds and sights of the salty ocean.
Jacks Country Store and Hardware in Ocean Shores is always a draw able to find things only ever seen in catalogs.

For decades we would 9 months travel up through the Columbia River Gorge to the family elk hunting cabin. Sold to help buy our house and property you visited in Toutle.
The Washington state highway west out of Longview out to the coast along the lower Columbia gives somewhat the same flavor - but just enough different.

A rare, rare, no-wind sunny day at the beach.

This weather has been strange indeed, several days now calm no wind and beautiful. Clear, cold hard freezes. Sounds travells far on a steeped on twig crack. Whorefrost up heavel pushing rocks down into the road, crunch under foot

Been working on my personal fitness, and the new place i have incredible amounts of ground to hike and hunt just out the back door. Trying to put down on foot 10 miles each weekend.

Dana and I always like going into Jacks merchandise store there one in a kind of place to visit. Bought some great Lodge cooking wear there years ago now. The Ocean is a wonderful place for us Central Washington dry landscape people. It is a long drive so a few days are needed to take it all in.
