Hi all, hope im not posting in the wrong thread or something.
Anyways this “carcass” of a moped followed me home today, my plan is to mount a chinese engine, 150cc four stroke, on it, then build a little charcoal gasifier for it. :grinning:

Lots of restoring there, Goran! I have confidence you will make it into something useful! :cowboy_hat_face:

The hubs look okay but it looks like it will need new spokes and rim hoops. If you’re rebuilding the wheels it’d be best to replace the bearings as well. As far as engines go I like the Honda clone CT engines. Semi automatic versions are fun just bang through the gears.

Thank you guy’s, it probably looks more “rotten” than it is, the wheels im going to replace, i have some better ones, anyways it’s a decent object, i’ve repaired worse :slightly_smiling_face:
Cody, i think the engine i have is a honda ct clone, im not so good at the types, but it seems to be a very common engine?

It probably is a CT type engine. Overhead cam kidney bean shaped engine.

Got the John Deere dozer running, rewired it. It was 6 volt pos. ground, I changed it to 12v neg. ground. Now to get it out of the shop, see if it will steer. :grimacing:

Picked up this '76 today. Runs, drives and even stops! 350 sbc, automatic. Did some work for a friend and told me that I can take it home for free! Woot! Woot!
I finally have a rig to put my new gasifier on :call_me_hand:

@Woodrunner, how much do you think that truck would be here?

In that shape, uninspected, ill guess 50000 Swedish kr.
Its much money in these, even gasoline ones today, they was much cheaper than diesels, only some 10 years ago.
Edit: 5285$

For my local sales I’d be looking at probably an insane 3000 USD or more. People covet the older trucks.

A pipe dream for sure but I’d love to have a Chevrolet Viking. Big boy truck.

I talked to my brother about it. He lives in California and cussed me for getting it for free lol. This same truck on the west coast would bring 4,000.
Guess I’ll have a woodgas truck worth $5000 including gasifier. I’m going to keep this for a long time. Won’t find a deal like this again I’m sure of it. Unless people start unloading v-8’s due to these fuel price spikes and shortages. On my way once again to SWEM my friends!

It’s a sign to get that thing on some cordwood BTUs for sure. Not every day you get a vehicle as payment.

A great idea! Weren’t the C10s the ones that were sort of recalled because a side impact collision at a certain angle that hit the gas filler tube would cause a massive fire?

C10 spanned decades, do you mean the ones that had the filler cap in the cab body?

I don’t recall exactly. I thought they recalled some of the ones that had the filler in the side of the bed as well. I just remember GM getting slapped with a lawsuit over it.
