Pasquali 988 restoration

Hello Dan- I need your help! I can’t for the life of me figure out how to get the 3pt hitch cylinder out of the tractor. Mine was only lifting the hitch about 6" so I am hoping a rebuild will fix it. Problem is, I can’t get the thing out! I hope you can help. Thank you. My email is
[email protected]
If that is easier. Thanks again.

Jason remove the seat mounting bracket and you should be able to look straight down on the cycle and see both end. The lift arms are held on with a snap ring on the end of the arm that must be removed iirc the right hand side where the upper 3 point hitch arm bolts onto the frame below the seat comes off with 3 bolts once the lift arm is removed. Then you should have access to pull the pins on both ends of the cylinder. I remember pulling the offset cam out the side where the arm support was bolted to the frame under the seat. IIRC correctly you have to piviot it to the correct spot to fit through the opening and that removes the far pin from the cylinder. If you could post a photo of where you are stuck it would probably help.
The orginal cycle is single acting gravity down. When i have had cylinders like that fail normally they leak oil everywhere. I think before removing the cylinder i would make sure there isn’t something physically limiting the stroke of the cylinder or the cam it drives. I am wondering if maybe something is just wedge in the back not allowing it to extend out.

Nicola parts would be harder to find now. I believe Tom Branch got out of the business a few years back not too long after i rebuilt mine in this thread. He was the last pasquali dealer in north America and you need an import license to order from Europe in the USA so i didn’t do that.
The motors where bought by Kohler and you can get engine parts from their dealer but it requires cross referenceing from Lamborghini to Kohler part numbers. I ordered something for mine that way though i forget what. I used aftermarket parts mostly from discount hydraulics for most of the other stuff i needed. Most of the gaskets like around the gearbox i simply used automotive sealant.
The bearings are all standard metric sizes and can be ordered online or through a automotive parts store.
If you let me know what you are looking for i might be able to suggest more places to look. But i feel i was very fortunate to rebuild mine when i did.

Ive been reading this entire thread. Great read.
Looks like i have 2 moog 341 packages ( u joints ) the head cap diamter is correct but the length is off by around 1/8 " to 3/16". Ive been looking around- any ideas anyone ? These are the 2 ujoints for the drive.

They will be metric. Try measuring in mm and searching based on that size.

I am guessing you need 24mm x 64.2mm

Glad to be able to help. I have definitely had to ask my share of questions in the past and it always amazes me how much people will help. Also glad you are finding my rebuild thread helpful.

Unfortunately those tractors are made based on European standards not common in north America. Motion industries might be a supplier in the usa they are able to get alot of odd stuff.

Good morning.
I was measuring the ujoint that i removed from the tractor and my measurements differ from what you suggested. I have 24mm x 66mm. Ill try google some info.
Thank you.

Hello group. Locating the ujoints is a no. No exact fit. I have decided to try and sand the old ujoints, install new needle bearings and new caps and go from there. Will report back with results.

Too bad someone in Europe can’t check with a pasquali dealer there. Seems like they should be available in Europe.

I can give it a try, but maybe it is easier just to change the needle bearings.
