Thank you Marcus, yes you never know what you got til it’s gone. These Super Duties pull the trailers properly. The idi engines are good engines for a man like me, who isn’t particularly in a hurry.
I found this yesterday; it might be for a pyrolytic coil like Don’s (wood/engine exhaust heat exchanger) or for preheating the air in a multi-stage nozzle reactor.
It looks like part of a steam cooker, very cool.
I’ve been looking for one of these old power drills for a while, strong and really slow turning, which is good for drilling stainless steel.
I got exactly one like this a while ago, but it was burned out from mixing concrete.
Some days ago i found one exactly same, but working good, 1930-1950s some, almost indestructible.
Replaced the cord.
Observe the handle, these became banned in industrial use because they had a tendency to crush wrists, and peoples arms looking like cork-screw’s.
I would hate to use a hole saw with one of those, unless I had some sort of brace to prevent twisting my arm off. It looks like it could drill a hole all the way to China.
I have a couple of those drills too, really strong ones. One of them is mounted in one of those benchtop drillpresses with a spring that pushes the drill and handle back up again from around the same era.
No worries about the wrists then but the other one is another story

Yes, a hole saw would either explode, or get stuck and twist my arm until power cord is winded up, and pulls the plug…
I plan to put a looong second handle up front.
Haven’t got my Ferguson to run on wood yet, but today i dragged home this old logging cable crane.
Just need to fix the pto shaft.
As you can see im not that wealthy as my Swedish woodgas friends, with their fancy hydraulic cranes and logging machinery
goran, is there a clutch and a brake on that cable spool?
Hi Don, yes, there is clutch and brake, everything “remote controlled” by a string to pull.
I can’t explain exactly how the clutch works, it was long time since i tinkered with one of these, but i seem to remember there are like brake shoes rotating inside the drum for transfering power.
The brake is just a lined steel band operating outside the drum.
Göran, the main reason I bought the grapple trailer is the storm last winter. With practicly no other expenses I needed to be able to utilize the deduction. But now that I have the trailer, I don’t regret it at all. Only regret is I didn’t buy it sooner 
My father-in-law used to have one of those cable cranes, only one size bigger - too big for the Fergie. Flat ground or downhill would have been possible, but nothing else

Goran, strinjam se s tabo, jaz ostajam pri svojem Fergiju in lesenem vozičku z leseno povezavo, no, tvoja dvigalka je precej podobna mojemu vitlu, le da je večje konstrukcije. Pri dvigovanju bremen moraš biti previden, veliko sile pride na zgornjo povezavo, kjer imaš tlačno vzmet, ta točka ni najboljša za velike vlečne sile, še posebej, če sila deluje navzgor. To točko imam izvedeno preko vijaka, ki gre skozi pesto menjalnika, na sliki je viden pod vzmetjo.

next time me should follow at home a disc harrow, small, only 1,40 meters wide, but always the transport problem…could be ideal for the fiat tractor…not easy to find small like this…
The Agria is about to break down. Looking for a new tractor for some time. Got lucky last week. Normal model again but still very compact ,75 hp and turning the same as the Agria. Surprising. Started with a 15 h Kubota, 28 hp Agria and now this Renault R80. Wow this is strong and not much bigger then the Agria. Fixed the mulcher and broke an axle. Haha got a spare one. Lucky day.

I picked this type for the Deutz engine, now it apears it has a MWM 325. Maybe even better, but parts are harder to find.
No time for restoration, waste of paint with the kind of abuse it has to endure. Got it working today and it seems the engine is ok. No smoke, smell, nothing. Really happy with this beast.
Wow that is alot of power in a compact frame. I would guess something that size here would be more like 50hp.
It sits low like what we would call an industrial tractor here in the states not high like a field tractor which will definitely make it more stable. Nice looking machine.
