Hi folks, I’m wondering if anyone has tried adding a basic hydrogen generator to a woodgas vehicle, to run it as a woodgas/HHO hybrid?
I was curious because you can ran a vehicle on petrol and HHO as a hybrid, has anyone tried it with woodgas?

A gasifer is a hydrogen generator, it just happens to also make carbon monoxide as well. If you want more hydrogen in your fuel gas use charcoal, insulate the heck out of the gasifier and add water/steam to the charcoal to tame core temperatures as Matt and others advocate.
When people talk about HHO generators they normally mean electrolysis- putting an electrical current into water and getting hydrogen on one side and oxygen (or HO) on the other. Generating the needed electricity will use a lot more energy than you will get back from enriching your fuel gas.
The science on HHO enrichment is pretty mixed but the strongest case is for adding it to diesel engines where it helps fix slow/incomplete combustion under lean (and efficient) conditions (see below). Unlike diesel, wood and char gas already has material hydrogen present, so I kind of doubt adding a little more will change combustion dynamics that much.
you are better off trying to create the h2 in the gasifier. If you are making hho/browns gas, you are using engine power to power an alternator to run a fairly inefficient hho electrolysis. to run the engine.
