Boil an egg with 20 watts of power?

I have ordered diodes and a gallon thermos… I am looking forward to trying this out.

I was expecting an induction type of heater, but diodes seem new.

I finally figured out that my induction heater doesn’t boil very well with the lid off, but with the lid cracked a bit, it goes ballistic. I think it has something to do with the cooling on the sides of the pan.

Yeah who knew? I heard about this and was going to let someone else verify, turns out it is true.

With solar panels you get 10 -30% more energy out verses resistivity heating…

It makes sense, mppts are used for the same purpose. Just never thought of it like that.

Yeah, the simplicity of this has my brain going… Having a 100 watt panel in my van and using that to cook with sure saves me money verses eating out…
