Plus lots of other low-rust parts. Jakob, do you really want/ need a four-wheel drive?
Might be a low-ball offer opportunity.
Hi Mr Wayne thanks but i bought a transmission that i hope will work. A guy up north of Knoxville was parting out a truck and sold me one pretty cheap. I just got in from taking the old one out, i have not set them side by side yet to see if they match. I think it will work though. Jakob
I think the older trannys will work if good and nor too many wires more than the year of your dakota year. The old trannys used the down shift cable too tell the trans when time too change gears, and had too be adjusted nice and snug. The newer tranys use more sencors and actuator solinoids too open the valve body pasages. And no longer use the cable, but the cable type should work, even though you might see a tranny code, they would work, long as the tranny is a 4 speed.
My tranny and the one i bought both have the downshift cable. The only thing that i know is diffrent the year model; the tranny that i bought is a 92 my truck is a 96. I am pretty sure the bell housing bolts are the same. The only thing that i noticed was diffrent was that the dipstick tube bolted on differently. Jakob
Sounds like a worker, i would call around or check ebay and salvage yard too make sure fly wheel are same for ballanceing check. And make sure you adjust the cable snug i think, there is a utube vidio for gm tranys too adjust the down shift cable snug, hope that helped, good luck with your dakota project.
Wayne,
That is a pretty one!
It always amazes me how bad the salt up here is on our stuff. Your listing trucks out of the 90s and my 05 Chevy is already developing cancer to the point where I wonder how long the frame will hold out.
That is why the last 3 vehicles I bought were from Fla. and S.C. all built in 90’s, no rust. Had them shipped. As soon as I got them painted, and oiled under carriage, and inside doors, quarters, fenders, and trunks. After 4-5 years still no rust. Worth all the hassle, and work. Yes our roads are heavily salted.
That sure is a cheap truck , you guys have no idea how lucky you are over there , for me to buy something that sort of age here we would have to pay this .

For that kind of money you could probably get Wayne to build the gasifer and ship the truck over to you…
