Donāt mind if I do take a break from working on this sterling crane that wonāt start for a joy ride Wayne!
Thanks for the ride in the V-10. Yup Lisa is a good camera video operator that is for sure. She even got a pay back on you with your face when you were not lookin. Lol good job Lisa

Wayne, I heard my name mentioned in your latest video and that I donāt put enough videos up.
Of course I took the bait right away
Thanks a bunch for the video JO . I enjoyed it and real glad you took the bait.
Here in my state we just had a tornado cross the entire state ( 170 miles ) . Missed us by about 15 miles .
JO, that was a great ride. With all the log loading you do. It must be keeping yourself in shape. Next video have the wife go with you and let her hold the camera like Wayne does. When she puts the camera on you we will see the SWEM on your face.
You say Last year at this time you still had a lot of snow. Well Spring just came early this year so just enjoy the Blessing of it.
Bob
That was awesome Jan, I remember when I found this forum a while back yours was the first build thread I had found and it wasnāt done yet. I had totally forgotten about and and now I got to see it completed donāt mind me Iāll spend the next few hours reading your thread all the way through again
Watching you woodgas back up with that trailer shoving snow J.O. - I think you need to name your system; āMiss Finesseā.
Regards
Steve unruh
Thanks for the ride JO, fun to see how well your car is going.
Red paint must be a real bargain in your area. I enjoyed you video. You speak better English that I do. Iāve never backed up a trailer without using four letter words.
Thanks for the thumbs up guys.
@Norman89 , I guess we havenāt yet had the opportunity to talk. I just want you to know Iām following your project with interest.
Keep it simple, see to that you have no leaks in the hottest parts, always use really dry wood and you will be SWEM in no time.
The dry wood will be the battle Iām sure, itās a very wet temperate rainforest here. Hoping to setup some sort of drying station depending on if Iām using wood from tree jobs or lumber from pallets at work which are usually pretty dry
Then focus on the condensing hopper. The more tubes the better. The more fins on them the better. The less water vapour dragged through the charbed the better.
Iāll keep that in mind as I go, I definitely value your input as a veteran of DOW. Idk how much difference it will make but I have a scheme in my head hoping to double the preheat air temp before it gets to the gassifier mounted hx, my hopes being to help remove water condensate better for the wet wood we have here
Mix some char with the raw wood .
Iām planning to do that for the first few runs to try to help establish a good char bed and I think I will supplement as well. I did just score a truck load of cherry from a tree removal that hopefully I can do some testing with. Our wild cherry here I would bet borderline the density of your southern oak. Incredibly hard to split even green right off the tree. It may make great gas as is or maybe even better as char I donāt know
The dryer I made seems to work real well but is a little awkward unless I made a couple of steps and platform to fill it. I was thinking about the rocket mass heater I have in the greenhouse. That has six inch ducting and I want to mention that if you ever build one for a greenhouse go bigger. You get way more heat out of an eight inch. Anyway taking readings off the bell you are looking at over 700 F feeding into the storage bed. The ducting runs out 17 feet and back the same and the temp at the exit flue seldom hits 90F. I think that even with a 4 inch rocket heater with the duct run though a series of say four 55 gallon drums, laid horizontal, with a hinged fill port on the top and emptying slot on the bottom you could dry a lot of wood quickly. Anyway it works great in my head.
Hey JO .
Thought I might show you a little more of the green stuff you where referring to on Jakobās thread .
Thank you for the DOW ride. Let Lisa know she does a wonderful job of handling the camera and video work. The blue skies I am sure are a welcome sight. Beautiful green country side. Looks like summer there.
Bob
Thanks for the nice ride, I scond what bob mac said.
