Thank you for the ride Jan . I enjoyed it very much.

Thank you Jan, that was a beautiful ride with you early in the morning. Getting up seeing the sun come over the the sea, lake. Or ocean is wonderful. Yes what JO said, about fuel sizing. Even in my WK gasifer it matters with what type of wood you use and sizing of that wood. The nozzles hole size makes a difference too on the Imbert gasifers. You are differently learning the other 75% of gasification, Good Job.
I did not see any lemons in your car, but I am sure you were doing a SMEM on this drive. Or I should say a SWEK. Smile With Every Kilometer.

I need to prep some fuel for a Sunday drive in the Mazda! I think Iā€™ll try to mount my phone to the windshield though, hard enough piloting a straight drive with no power steering(never had it to begin with) as well as playing with air adjustment to find the sweet spot.
I need to get one of my old phones that I scrapped, empty the memory in it and just use it as a camera. Takes forever to upload to YouTube on my WiFi and itā€™s even slower when I need to use my phone. Only downside of living in the country and far off the road is no cable company wants to lay line to your house.

I have found that when you record videos on your phone put it into airplane mode so your recording will not be stopped by incoming data or calls to you on your phone.

Iā€™d like to eventually save up for a halfway decent proper video camera. Iā€™d like to make video logs about my builds to better inform people on gasification and other random handy tidbits. Like another guy had said on another post, itā€™s pretty frustrating finding specific videos on gasifiers, let alone something as niche as an Obtainium built charcoal gasifier and even less for a vehicle sized one.
For us in the ā€œIn Groupā€ itā€™s not difficult to find Donā€™s, Kristijanā€™s, JOā€™s, Janā€™s, or Joniā€™s videos but to a new guy they wonā€™t know the right keywords to put in.

You are right it does take so time looking around on this DOW sight. It has become a vast amount of information platform for gasification topics, not counting all the other topics we have now too. But the titles by search icon is a good place to start. I have put hundreds of hours in reading here, and not begun to read all the gasification topics.

How do you buy gasoline when you are DOW?

Good morning Bruce.

I usually shut the gasifier down and drive on gasoline about a mile out from the gas station .

Took a couple of short videos while driving. The Mazda runs pretty great on charcoal, not very fussy once you get her into the right AFR

Drove the Mazda to work today on charcoal. I should have got up earlier to let it idle and warm up but I was in a rush.

It didnā€™t quite have strong gas until I got into town. After that it ran just fine and pulled all the hills. I think what I was perceiving as the gas not strong enough was me not having the air mixture closed enough. Now that the filter is covered and seasoned it needs just a little more choke.

Drove home on gasoline because hopper is low. Need to make more fuel.

Some of the salesmen kept asking ā€œif you can build this why on earth are you washing cars?ā€

Guess all they can see is business opportunities.

Yes Cody, if we were in Europe durning WorldWar 2 and when governments of these countries implemented charcoal and wood fueling stations and the building of gasifers. Why no gasoline or diesel fuel back then all fuel went to the war effort. Right now 2021 we are on our own if you want to DOW or DOC.
Now we have electric cars and trucks coming on the market. This just makes me want to hug and dead tree and burn it in my gasifer truck. If the price of fuel hits a new all time high and stays there in the USA it might trigger and cause a big renewal in gasification in cars and trucks. But will the USA government approve of it, this is the big question.
Right now here in Washington State, I am not driving my truck on wood after the big fire we had here. Some one two nights ago, shot a Fireworks Arial off in the parking lot up the road from us. The police and fire department all showed up with lights flashing. NO fires in our back yard around the fire pit for awhile. If some one even smells smoke the fire department is noticed. Bummer. And I would like to smoke some fish. NO FIRES PERIOD OR YOU WILL FINED.
So much for freedom.

I know the feeling Cody
Yesterday I put on about 30 miles and made several stops of about 1/2 hr. At the last one and still 10 miles from home I did not add more wood and 3 miles later the hopper temp went to 325 degā€¦ oops out of wood, so had to use some gasoline at $3.75 per gallon.

I wish I still had some 3.75 fuel mike and Bob! The xr250 is a very small tank so I fill up daily and have payed 4.41 this week. 2 weeks ago I put 50$ in the v10 and shut the pump off, not even 1/3 of a tank drive home and parked it. Has not been started since! Cheapest fuel I have seen was 3.99 last week. NEED to get this gassifier up and running asap with these fuel prices!

Iā€™m driving behind a mad truck, the maximum allowed speed on this section is 50 km / h! :joy:

These pass few weeks I would go back to fuel up one of my non gasifer vehicles and gas price would be up another $00.20 a gallon higher. Yikes are we heading into another gas embargo too, with tankers full of fuel sitting of shore and no gas at the gas station. Looks like price gouging is starting again.
This might bring a new meaning to the summer time blues.

Here, petrol costs about 7 dollars a gallon, if I count correctly.

I sure hope you get payed well, those prices would put a lot of people onto public transportation or lose a job they had to commute to around here
