It seems to run very well, Marcus :lemon:
No hesitation after leaving redlights?

Non that was noticable, I leave the high idle engaged to about 800-1000 rpm and doesnā€™t seem to have any hesitation but first gear is very short I shift at about 5mph into second and it picks up quick from there

Thanks for the video Marcus . It put a smile on my face from ear to ear .

Life is full of hardships and obstacles that most people just complain about and run their mouth. There are a very , very few that will grab the bull by the horns and walk the walk separating them-selfā€™s from the sheep herd .

Congratulations !!

You saw that Werner fixed so we can inspect all cars with gengas?

I have noticed after driving the last 4 days my truck warms up MUCH faster. Last Saturday running all the blowers it would be 15-20 minutes before system was up to temperature. Now it is less then 5 minutes and Iā€™m up to 240f on the rails. Have you done any extended drives to see if the minor hesitation gets better or worse? IV noticed with mine if it dies out at a stop light it is a pig to get started back on woodgas, motor has to be spinning over very quickly and it kind of putters back to life slowly almost like itā€™s hesitating to want to run. But once it gets a little rpm say 1000 itā€™s fine and runs good I wonder why that is. I guess the low vacuum of the big camshaft but I donā€™t know how to confirm it really

I noticed the paper you showed earlier, but I thought it was just an induvidual approval for his own vehicle only. How would we be able to benefit from it?

I wonder if itā€™s worth while trying with the Volvo. I would probably at least have to 100% seal the back seat, separate the fuel tank further away from the gasifier and maybe more.

Hello JO

Thanks much for the ride. It is rainy ,wet and windy here to day and I have no place to go. Have ask wife about every hour if there is anywhere she needs to go and was about to go out and fire up and take a ride anyway . After watching your video it seem to satisfy my woodgas addiction so maybe I can wait until morning to DOW

So far with the Volvo I donā€™t recall making longer one way trips than 50 miles, which is pretty much one full hopper. It should however be well up to temp by then, but Iā€™ve noticed very little difference in behaviour, cold or hot.
Even running slowly in town, letā€™s say 40 mph, or slightly downgrade for only 5-10 seconds, will cause a slight decrease in power after a few seconds of accelleration.

Wayne, in some parts of the world they have several wifes. I wonder if it would be worth while?

Hey Marcus .

While the motor is running there is a vacuum in the piping feeding gas to the motor , When the motor dies there will be just a little positive pressure of gas from the heat and steam of the gasifier which may cause the mixture to go too rich.
This will cause you to have to hunt to find the right mix. When starting back I like to assume the mix is rich and open my air valve to full open as I start cranking and closing the
air mix valve as I am cranking hopping the needs of the motor and the gas mix I am making will cross paths .

Wood burner pulling a dead tractor over the mountain. The truck doesnā€™t know it has anything behind it .

Old cowboy saying I just made up JO. If your wife isnā€™t constantly sticking her spurs in your flanks to get you to move faster then you are probably dead and in heaven.

Ops! Tom, I imagined something else there for a while, but what you meant is probably true

I must say that is a lot of water you are pulling out of your wood you are using. And this is good. Your Gasifier build is doing a great job on extraction of extra water. Congratulations to you the builder.
The back water and I saw some charcoal coming out of the back condensation tank looks normal. The hopper/tar condensation tank water nice and clear, it is doing a good job of separation of tar and water. Hay filter water I expected more because of what came out of your front sling shot front water traps. They are working great also.
In the morning fueling up and finding the collapsing of charcoal in the fire tube. Try this after shutting down the gasifer for the day. Open your hopper and check your charbed by using your poker rod. If it is running real lose it will collapse down alittle. Rod it and then close the lid. Make sure your intake valve is air tight and gas valves up front in the engine compartment are closed. Make sure all water drain valves are closed. Donā€™t leave anything open over night. It will cause your charbed to burn up. Air tight at shut down for the night.
I open my Hayfilter drain valve to see how much water would drain off the hay one time it was a cold freezing night. I lost my charbed. That small opening was just enough air to keep it burning all night.
I could hardy believe it but facts are facts and prove of it. Everything is looking good.
