JO's gasified 92 Volvo

Newer Camero you have to pull the entire front bumper assembly just to change the fog light bulb

Marcus, I pushed “like”. “Dislike” is what I meant.

I ran into one that I had to remove part of the fender inner liner. PITA TomC

Did service a BMW some weeks ago at work, had to remove front/plastic bumper to change low-beam bulbs

My favourite is the new’er Volvos, pull up two holders that look like “tent-pegs” and the headlight is remowed, could just put it on the workbench and change the bulbs.

98-2007 Chevy pickups the same way, seconds to change bulbs

Wife is stepping up her gengas activities (on Facebook).
I modified the grate shaker today - from WK-style to JO-style.

Good Job on video work, may be you should do all of JO’s video’s for now on. I like the manual spring loaded shaker JO.

Now that’s a KISS grate shaker! Remote activated full manual control, no motor to fail and parts to break great design! Now how did you seal it up?

Seconded. I’ve thought about using two oil seals to stabilize and add redundancy.

I used a tiny plumbing part, siliconed it and tourqed it in place with a nut on the inside. Prior to that I drilled the inside of the plumbing part to exactly fit the non-threaded part of an 8mm bolt. Also, I stuffed the inside of the plumbing full of copper grease, where the bolt goes through, before I closed it up and tightened it.
I hope this makes sense
The problem with my WK-style straight rod was my gasifier floor didn’t flex enough to allow for the rod to rattle.

Thanks for posting JO .

I like it !!

This is a good design because of the high clearance it has from the ground. I like the movement of the grate. My motor shaker does more vibration then actual movement.

And making BIG steps! She sounds like a American talking Swedish. Beware Mr Wayne, some competition coming up.

Hmm, since I look at the gengas forum in Sweden, I got a different picture of the whole thing, that someone was eager to show what he had done when his wife woke up?

When she wakes up a little grumpy from a nightshift, I always try to cheer her up with something really interesting
That she without my knowlidge joined a gengas forum, is proof I’ve managed to steer her in the right direction, isn’t it?

If she still finds that really interesting then you are a lucky man JO.

Tom, I hope ya’ll realize there’s a good portion of sarcasm involved in all this talk.

Proof of a wood gas genius I would say.

Just a tiny update. Swapped restriction from a 4" to a 4.5 with a bit more beef to it. Wanted to see if hesitation sympthomes would improve. Burned a hopper worth of chunks, but too early to tell. The gasifier refilled with clean char will always make it more responsive for a little while.
