Oh yeah the super quiet ones that they sell. The plain style 9000watt gennys are 800 bucks before sales tax. Bought a second metal Jerry can and some 10w30 oil. Topped off the pickup and my tax refund is now spent.

This generator is pretty fuel efficient, put in the oil and a splash of gas and ran it for 2 minutes to let the oil get on everything. Shut off the petcock to run the carb dry and it ran for a good 6 minutes. I have the Jerry can with some MMO and StaBil added next to it so mom doesn’t have to wrestle with a full Genset incase I’m not around and the power goes out.

Ordered another 10lb spool, this time for sheet metal. I’ve been buying some multi-pass wire but it’s more suited for thicker material. No wonder I’m burning through barrel metal even at bottom voltage and amps.
For reference my go to has been E71T-11(multi pass, thicker work material) but what I really needed was E71TGS. Here’s some Amazon links, both are not much more than 40 bucks.

Good prices Cody. I’ve always bought Lincoln or Hobart wire and both were over 80 bucks a roll last time I bought any and that was a couple years ago. I tried some Harbor Freight wire once and hated that. Never tried any other brands.

We woke up to -37F this again this morning. This should be the last of the real cold. Tomorrow they forecast temperatures of up to 28F. The 10 day forecast says in the 20’s. like Mother Nature has a switch to flip on from one season to another.

Ah this. There is more thain meets the eye. NATO is just as guilty as the Russians here. It has ignored its own rules. One of them, l belive signed in 97, with Russia, say they will not expand to a certain point geographicly, and specialy not if the security of the region might from whatever reason be in danger. That rule didnt even last a year, despite Russia constantly wanting to sort things out. At some point they had enaugh.
Make no mistake, l dont support this shit. Im sure there are bigger apetites from the background from all sides but you in order to understand this one needs to understand slavic mentality. Imagine an old family dog, sleeping, and a child poking it with a stick. Its gonna take it for a long long time, suffer for the greater good, but when he has enaugh he will bite the kids hand off.
There are some things the west shuld not involve in, and this is one of them

I doubted the need for NATO when Turkey of all countries signed on.
Gasoline went up 20 cents overnight here. Glad I topped off yesterday and should last me two weeks. Plenty of time to get the gasifier finished.

On your new 9000 watt harbor Freight generator it’d be best if you broke-in and ran it through three tanks of gasoline before you’d trust it and set it aside for needs-must.
3-4 years ago I set a goal to birthday gift every family woman her own personal small electrical generator.
My wife got the first in a $950. Honda 2000 inverter unit.
The others were three Harbor Freight 2-cycle Tailgator types. (a Yamaha system clone).
One slightly higher wattage 2-cycle same-type in an All-Trades brand. (Cloned from the same Yamaha unit.)
One Firman brand small 4-stroke 1200 watt? unit.
And one small never-seen-before market name, 3500 watt 4-stroke inventory sell-off from a regional membership store.
All of the 2-stokes developed spark plug problems in less than 50 hours needed branded named spark plug replacements. Good info on the internet about this.
The All Trades brand 2-stroke developed a deep heart rattle/knock and I finally shut it down after 30 hours. Never gifted that one out. Return all of the way down to a SoCal importer made that a no-go. Parts machine then.
Came in handy when one of the Harbor Freight 2-stokes developed a gasoline tank seam leak. Adapt and fit; mix and match parts then.
The Firman 4-stroke kept shedding visible metals in the engine oil. Changed 2-3 times. Finnally put high zink break in oil in it to slow that down. Ha! It’s the only one out then three generators in that household that always starts right up!
And the killer deal 3500 watt unit is the absolute noisiest small unit I’ve ever ran. I stuffed the muffler. Cut, four fitted A-frame prop shield plywood panels for it.
Still . . . B’d gifted that to a very far out rural woman friend to my wife’s. Hear her generator from the road and know she’s O.K.
Really. 50 hours man. At least three full tanks of gasoline ran out before you’d trust it.
Watch your oil. Change for every tank of fuel if you really want to set up for the longest life.
You want to achieve this in the first 30 days for maybe having to return/exchange.

I think break in procedure for the 9kw I got is 3 hours at a half load or longer under no load. Checked the manual that it comes with. I used conventional oil to break it in, I’ll put the wheels on it and just let it run tonight.

Yes, things got out of hand. I belive its a natural reaction of a nation to do something about it if the potential nuse is starting to tighten around your neck. It seems this current thing was Putin trying to make an example, saying to the west “stop stirring shit, it will start to stink”. Also, yesterday Putin sayd he will not step one foot on true Ukrainian territory, only on the part thats mostly russian. But to clarify more we realy shuld need a first hand opinion, hope Joni gets to us fast. I talked to him by the way, so he is still ok.
Ok enaugh of this crap now, let the things run its corse!

Also I really like the oil change interval on this generator, mostly because I can fit an entire quart of oil and it be at the perfect amount. Drain plug is easy to get to as well and no frame obstructions for it to dribble onto.
I’m not an electrician so we will probably hire a guy, or a family friend that does this for a living to add a tie in system with proper shutoff to prevent backfeeding. The panel is in a great location, I could store the generator in the old boiler room and direct exhaust up the old chimney made for the oil burner that no longer exists. The main propane tank is a safe distance from the boiler room as well, mom joked about adding a trifuel carb to the genset and if it really ever got bad we could just use up the propane in that giant tank.
Boiler room needs a new secure door before I decide to move it there however.
Edit: I’m going to run the generator 1 hour at a time completely unloaded.
I think another thing people forget to do is let the genset run about 5 minutes unloaded before using it to make sure everything is charged and warmed up.
Edit 2: I was wrong, break in is 3 hours unloaded, then let it cool down and run it 20 hours on low load and then change the oil.

Friday the 25th of February 2022: I went in for surgery this after noon at 12:30 pm.
At 02:45 they did the surgery on my left knee. I was amazed when I saw what they took out of my knee area.
I did not get to go home until 06:45 pm, because my blood pressure would not go down they tried for hours to get It down, It was going up and down 200 plus over 110 at times, I was praying to The YEHOVAH and by His Word Yeshua silently. I finally ask what does the blood pressure need to read about to leave. The nurses said 140 over 75. I spoke out loud so everyone could hear me. YEHOVAH bring my blood pressure down so I can leave in Yeshua’s Name. The very next blood pressure reading had dropped to 147 over 70. God is so good. God likes to show other people how powerful His Name really is when you speak it out loud. They saw that pressure drop and that was good enough for them to send me home. Praises to The YEHOVAH and His Son Yeshua. My Faith is even stronger in Almighty God now that I have went through all of this today. He Is the Author and Perfecter of my faith like it says in the Bible.
