Yes, try to keep it. These engines are made to run for ever and ever. And give it something to do 
. As Tone shows, woodgas and diesel is a top combo.

Ive seen many upgraded fuel filters used on these listers.
From dropping an inline fliter into the original filter housing and removing the old “sock/spring”, to bypassing the original fuel filter all together and running screw on canister type filters(not a fan of this as i like the stock look)
What does your friend use for a fuel filter?

I am seeing him later this week and i shall ask him what filter he uses , I spoke to him the other day and he has yet to order the new conrod and shells to match from the local distributor of Indian spares due to lack of funds for other items on his to do list , but i am sure it wont be long before its up and running again ,he was moving it to a new position to strip it down and then rebuild and run in its new power shed .
