Partridge / ruffed grouse?
They’ll have their chicks running around soon, fall would be better shooting time besides.
I sure like hearing them drum in the spring.
Not the smartest birds regarding windows though!

Garry I had a ruffled grouse around my house last spring .I think someone must have raised him as a pet .It would walk around with me and get under foot when I was cutting slab wood or come into the garage when my air compressor was running.It also went next door and played with the neighbors small dogs.It also liked to run out by the gravel road and chase cars.I never new they could run like it did.
