On my 1995 Dodge Dakota, the shift indicator does not indicate (stuck on 1st) This seems to be common across a lot of Dodges. A YouTube will show how to fix it by grafting a new fishing line onto it. I did as instructed but it became sloppy after dozens of cycles. My fix was to travel to the hardware store and get more tension in a spring. But you don’t get the right length. Needle nose pliers and cutters fix that.
